The boys are back in town — and they’re sporting new looks. Stranger Things stars Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, and Caleb McLaughlin came to the Netflix Tudum event to remind everyone that their interminable show still exists and that it will be releasing its final season in the most annoying manner possible.

We, for our parts, will be focusing on the looks; partially because we’re shallow and partially because we’re pretty over the whole Stranger Things deal and we’ll probably only watch the wrapup when it’s all over.

The pieces are all cute, but they feel randomly thrown together. The scarf is fighting with the jacket and everything below the waist has nothing to with anything above it. Keep the jacket, ditch everything else and start over.

He couldn’t have done a better job to signal that he’s putting all of this firmly behind him. Shaving his famous locks is a bold move, but probably a very smart one for his career. Does he look better with no hair? Not at all. But he looks ready to do something new and that’s pretty much the point. Love the jacket. The rest of it is pretty generic, but we think that’s what he wants more than anything right now. As we’ve noted before, when you shove a 14-year-old into a rockstar look that causes responses that make him extremely uncomfortable, it’s not surprising when he strips all that away at the very first chance.

Like Finn’s buzz cut, his beard is making a very important point as loudly as possible: he’s not that cute kid from Stranger Things; not anymore. This suit looks spectacular on him, but we hate that half-kilt thing. Just let the guy have his plaid shorts.
