Teyana Taylor, Sherri Shepherd and Taraji P. Henson came to the Netflix upfronts to serve looks and promote their upcoming film Tyler Perry’s Straw.

Teyana kindly opted to not go HAM this time, perhaps in deference to her co-stars. As we noted the other day, she serves kickass looks so consistently that anyone who’s sharing a spotlight with her better be prepared for it.

Still, even in nothing more than a trench coat, she tends to pull all the focus toward her. That butter yellow looks great on her, but she’s not giving us much to talk about. Given how good she is at working red carpets, we figure that’s a deliberate choice on her part. This is her keeping it low key and profesh. We kinda hate that asymmetrical hem. Sherri’s look is also pretty basic. We’re not mad at it, but we don’t love the color. The sash gives it some interest.

Taraji opted not to come low-key, clearly. She must have figured that Teyana was going to show up in something insane and steal all the thunder. Well, you’re the one wearing the crazy frock now. We’d have been perfectly okay with this if it didn’t have all that awful fringe. We just want to take a hedge trimmer to this dress.
