The ladystars came out in some eye-popping looks, as one would expect from a Cannes fashion brand-hosted party, for the annual Kering Foundation “Women in Motion” Gala, saluting those fabulous gals in filmdom. Let’s assess all of their Kering-branded finery, yes?
Alba Rohrwacher in Valentino
The dress is juvenile and insipid, the tights are giving skin disease and the shoes are glaringly wrong.
Charli XCX in Saint Laurent
Fabulous in a Miss Piggy sort of way but it could use some jewelry and the hair looks terrible with this kind of dress.
Daisy Edgar-Jones in Gucci
This might be a case of a dress not photographing well, but we hate the way the bodice and skirt are abruptly married.
Dakota Johnson in Gucci
A little basic, but pretty in a sparkly way. The earrings make the look.
Isabelle Huppert in Balenciaga
The beat is fabulous but the frock is forgettable.
Julia Garner in Gucci
Love that color, but the flimsiness of that top half doesn’t appeal.
Julianne Moore in Bottega Veneta
Chic, classic and comfy.
Juliette Binoche in Gucci
Those pops of color just don’t work for us. They might if the shades were a little more sophisticated but these are daycare decor colors.
Nicole Kidman in Balenciaga Couture
Pure fucking stunning.
Salma Hayek in Gucci
It’s good, but considering she’s literally Mrs. Owns-Half-This Company, we set the bar higher for her.
Tessa Thompson in Balenciaga
She kept it simple. It doesn’t take the best picture but she’s looking pretty elegant.
