Messy Maxima is currently the hardest working royal in Europe and we thank her for her service, especially since she insists on going out in outfits worth discussing, which is a nice blogger way of saying “bad outfits.” The Queen came to Roosendaal today for the opening of the 2025 Kings Games, looking like this:
That last shot pretty much sums up our feelings on this outfit. The cape/coat is a nice enough piece, but it overwhelms her slightly, which is why it should be paired with neutral pieces that don’t add any volume. She chose to go in the opposite direction. We don’t think the pants were the right choice for it, but nothing is as horrid a style decision as the one that led to wearing that top. It’s hideous — the color, the finish, the design — completely unsalvageable. Also, the hair’s a mess. She likes to wear it down for outdoor appearances in this, the land of windmills, so it routinely looks pretty bad in pictures. A couple of well-placed clips would help out a lot.
