To our way of thinking, Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown had just about the worst experiences of all the Stranger Things cast because she was such a phenomenon and he looked like a rockstar when he was fourteen. No kids should have to work their way through that kind of scrutiny at that young an age. We bring this up because MBB’s reaction to her early fame was to grow up quickly and embrace a much more mature personal style whereas Finn seems to have much less interest in fashion or presentation – which is, to be fair, pretty indicative of Gen Z guys. He showed up at The Late Show dressed like a mall security guard to chat about Hell of a Summer, which he wrote and directed.
Enh. We won’t begrudge him the crew jacket, but the rest of it is terrible. The thing is – and this is the crime of it – he could blow Timothee Chalamet out of the poser pool water if he just leaned slightly into his own rockstar looks and put a little swagger into his style. If not that, then turn toward a sort of Nerd Chic, which would also suit him really well, as would Goth Prince. He’s got so many style options available to him. This is tragic.
