We extend a hearty and heartfelt congratulations to Chappell Roan, who had her first truly impeccable high fashion red carpet moment (in our opinion) at The Daily Front Row’s Ninth Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards. Girl, you found your dress.

And no, this isn’t some sort of “shut your mouth” joke on our parts, although we wouldn’t put that interpretation past her. You simply aren’t going to find a wearer better suited to this design than her. A dramatic design needs a drama queen to make it work. Our first impulse is to explain that by saying she’s the one person who knows exactly how to work a dress like this — and that’s largely true (the hair and makeup are perfect for it) — but we admit to being a bit shocked that she paired it with such a conventional pair of slingbacks. Those wacky tights call for some bootie action.
