It’s TUESDAY, dammit! Fortunately for all of us, we have a LOvely LOunge in which to spend it and a veritable cornucopia of content in order to distract you from The Horrors. Settle in and remember to be disgraceful.
Anne Hathaway in Verity: Everything We Know About the Colleen Hoover Adaptation
Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett will also star.
It didn’t end with Blake Lively. Another of Colleen Hoover’s novels is getting the big-screen treatment, this time with Anne Hathaway in the lead. Like many of Hoover’s books, Verity was a veritable (pun intended) BookTok sensation, for better and for worse. It was self-published in 2018 and has since sold over 2 million copies.
Following the success of It Ends With Us (cast drama aside), Hoover’s Verity will boast an even more star-studded cast and is sure to generate hype. Here’s everything we know about the project.
You season 5: the official trailer is here – and it looks like Joe’s past is back to haunt him
“This is going to be the best season yet!”
“In the epic fifth and final season, Joe Goldberg returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after… until his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires.”
We cannot wait, and we’re not the only ones. “This seasons REALLY raising the stakes,” one fan commented under the YouTube video, while another added: “This is gonna be the best season yet!”
Of course, those of us who have watched the teaser will already know that Joe is in New York, as the clip shows us Joe getting ready for an evening out with his girlfriend, Kate. It seems the pair are now living “happily”, just as they had planned at the end of season 4.
Cake nails are spring-summer’s sweetest manicure
If you’re looking for a sweet manicure heading into spring-summer, there’s a new one on our radar. Cake nails were the curveball design we didn’t see coming, but ever since we saw the most delicious inspo from Mel at Overglow Edit, it’s all we’ve been able to think about.
Almost edible nails are nothing new, cherry manicures explode each summer, as do strawberry nails and fruity nails. Likewise, glazed donut nails (and spin-offs of the trend like strawberry glazed donut and chocolate glazed donut) have never fallen off the the agenda since they took off in 2022.
Curtain bangs will never not look cute – here’s 37 ways to wear them
Here’s 37 ways to wear them.
Just like a perfectly tailored blazer can instantly add extra structure and interest to an outfit, curtain bangs can give texture, dimension and framework to hair in a few snips. Neither are “new” but their popularity continues on because they are just so classic. So, it will probably surprise precisely no-one that they’ll be sticking around for 2025 as one of the most covetable haircuts you can get.
Of course floaty fringes have been talked about for years but the style has been cemented in the top spot more than ever over the past 12 months, thanks in part to some of our favourite celebrities providing delicious inspo.

Nobody Wants This season 2 has offered up a first look and it’s as cute as we needed it to be
Gossip Girl fans are living for the upcoming second season, as Adam Brody’s partner Leighton Meester will join the cast.
Netflix’s own X account posted the following caption, with an adorable picture of Kristen and Adam filming a rather cute scene for their characters, all cuddled up on the sofa. But will the picture-perfect romance last long? We will have to see.
The caption for the post reads: “Kristen Bell and Adam Brody behind the scenes of Nobody Wants This Season 2. WHICH IS NOW IN PRODUCTION!!”
Brace yourself, harem pants are back but not as you know them
They’re no longer reserved for travelling
Even as a fashion editor I’ll admit, sometimes a trend comes along that’s so unexpected it catches you off guard. I spoke about this before when Prada plucked the barn jacket out of its dog walking obscurity and transformed it into AW24’s must-have jacket style (a title it still holds for SS25, FYI). Now it seems the fashion houses are at it again however this time they’ve turned their eyes to our trousers.
No longer reserved for backpacking travellers and bohemian artistic types, harem pants are making their way into all the most stylish peoples wardrobes and staking their claim as one of spring’s hottest trouser shapes.
Bubble Dresses and Skirts Are Back This Spring—Here’s How to Style Them
Balloon dresses are officially chicer than ever, so we found 24 options to wear right now.
Listen, we never thought we’d say it either, but hear us out: Bubble dresses (and skirts) aren’t just back in the conversation—they’re everywhere. We spotted the 2025 fashion trend on the spring-summer runways at Simone Rocha and JW Anderson, just to name a few labels. Zendaya cosigned the look late last year, and we just named it one of the key dress trends of the season. If you want to stay ahead of the curve, it’s officially time to give this balloon look a go.
Last seen en masse at the tail end of the aughts, bubble skirts once signaled preppy, moneyed glamour. (It’s no surprise, then, that Princess Diana famously wore a striped puffball dress in the ’80s, the first heyday of the voluminous silhouette.) While the look still carries those connotations—prep is having a major moment this year, after all—it’s shifting into something lighter and more refined. (No offense to your prom dress.)
‘White Lotus’ Star Aimee Lou Wood Responded to Fan Comments About Her Teeth
Yes, they’re real.
“All I ever do is take the piss out of myself. Even the way [White Lotus fans] are talking about me and my teeth—that I don’t have veneers or Botox—it feels a bit rebellious.”
Wood has previously said that she thinks that her teeth would prevent her from playing an American on screen. “It’s the teeth. Like, no Americans have my teeth,” she said during the February On Demand Entertainment interview. “They just don’t. I’d have to get veneers. Because … I think that genuinely is like one of the things.”
Nearly A Century of Cocktail Party Etiquette, According to Vintage and Modern Cocktail Books
Drinking decorum has been discussed in cocktail books for eons.
In February, star drink influencer Hannah Chamberlain launched her first cocktail book, How to Be a Better Drinker: Cocktail Recipes and Boozy Etiquette. The book is filled with fresh spins on classic drinks, including a Margarita/Paloma mashup and an Espresso Martini with Guinness syrup. Also included is advice like “How to Treat Your Bartender” and “Seven Virtues of Good Guests,” the boozy etiquette promised in the title.
Chamberlain’s book is written for the modern era, but guides that offer drink recipes and how to behave while you serve and consume them have a long lineage. Let’s peek at some advice found in cocktail etiquette books published over the last 95 years.

This Is Officially the No. 1 American-Made Cheese, According to This Year’s U.S. Championship Cheese Contest
The 13-month-aged Gouda just made history as the first cheese to win Best in Show twice.
Arethusa Farm Dairy produces some of the most fashionable cheese in America. Founded 15 years ago by former Manolo Blahnik executives Anthony Yurgaitis and George Malkemus, Arethusa made a significant move toward establishing its legacy by recently winning Best in Show with the farm’s Europa cheese at the biennial U.S. Championship Cheese Contest — becoming the first creamery in the competition’s 40-year history to secure the title in two consecutive events.
“It’s been the best in the country for the last two years and will be for the next two years,” Chris Casiello, Arethusa Farm Dairy plant manager, tells Food & Wine. “It really validates what we have done here.”
Meghann Fahy’s Master Plan After breaking out on TV, Fahy stars in a big-screen thriller this April. She won’t pressure herself to map out what’s next.
Since White Lotus, the 34-year-old has brought her emotional intensity and zingy comedic timing to high-profile projects like the mystery series The Perfect Couple with Nicole Kidman and the recent Sundance hit Rebuilding opposite Josh O’Connor. This May, she’ll star in another dark-comedy limited series for Netflix, Sirens with Julianne Moore, and is preparing to film Peacock’s The Good Daughter, a limited series based on the Karin Slaughter novel of the same name, with Rose Byrne. In the meantime, she’ll top-line Blumhouse’s horror flick Drop, in which she plays a widowed mother who, while on a first date, is terrorized by a series of anonymous drops to her phone that instruct her to kill the guy across the table or else watch her son get axed live on a home security camera.

‘Bridgerton’ Star Nicola Coughlan to Receive Canneseries Honor
The Irish actress is this year’s recipient of the French TV festival’s Konbini Commitment Award.
Irish actress Nicola Coughlan, known to hordes of Bridgerton fans as Penelope Featherington/Lady Whistledown and as Clare Devlin to Derry Girls enthusiasts, will be honored at this year’s French TV festival Canneseries with the annual Konbini Commitment Award.
The award, presented by the French online media group, honors talent who have distinguished themselves “by the artistic quality and societal, innovative and/or revolutionary dimension of their work.” Previous winners include Sex Education creator Laurie Nunn, American Horror Story actress Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, and Transparent showrunner Joey Soloway.
Rachel Zoe, THR’s First Stylist Cover, Wants Red Carpet “Petty Criticism” to Go Away
The former celebrity stylist, now designer, also shared her thoughts on how fashion designer contracts narrow creativity and can create poor styling choices (“It’s because they were paid”) and how, though she was a reality show star, she disliked talking about her work: “I was ashamed.”
“I think that one of the biggest differences from when I was styling was that I was not posting [on social media] with my clients. Twitter was maybe just happening then. My clients were definitely not posting that I styled them. I had the most amazing clients, but we did it all very privately, behind closed doors. And yes, of course I was pulled into the public eye. It became this sort of constant, “What are they wearing? What were you thinking? What was the inspiration?” All that. Now, before they hit a red carpet, everybody has already seen the pictures. Back then it was like, oh my God, literally everyone would be blowing up my phone. What was the choice? Was it the Valentino, or was it the Versace, or was it the Gucci?” […]
Also sometimes I look at an outfit and I’m asking why would you put that necklace with that dress? It doesn’t work at all. And then I’m like, oh wait …
“That’s because they were paid. It is different. You have to change with the times, or you don’t, and you move on. It is now acceptable that the stylist, hair, makeup and everyone else, is part of the narrative and in the spotlight. That is almost expected on some level. Whereas when I was doing it, if people wanted to interview me on a carpet when I was with a client, I would say no. If you wanted to take a picture of me on a carpet with a client, I’d say no.”
Too Many Trends!
Every generation has chased trends. But to some members of Gen Z, the objects of teenage yearning feel more plentiful and less durable than ever before.
For the past few years, opening up social media has felt like standing in front of a fire hose of fashion and internet fads and cranking open the nozzle, full blast.
New “it” water bottles are anointed almost quarterly. Influencers urge their viewers to style themselves as coastal grandmothers, ballet dancers, indie sleazers and coquettes — looks that have little in common besides the consumption they require. Specious fads like the “mob wife aesthetic,” recognized by publications including this one, prompted The New Yorker’s humor column to predict what might come next: How about “Supreme Court casual” or “spotted-lanternfly goth”?
To keep up would leave most people broke, not to mention disoriented. And while a majority of these crazes are labeled “Gen Z trends,” members of that generation may be the ones most fatigued by the churn.

The National Park Service has projected the dates for peak bloom to fall at the end of March.
Nothing signals the arrival of spring in Washington, D.C., quite like the blooming of the city’s revered Yoshino cherry trees. Celebrated annually during the National Cherry Blossom Festival—which honors the gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Tokyo’s Mayor Yukio Ozaki to DC in 1912—these stunning blossoms cloak the city’s iconic landmarks in soft pastel pink and white hues.
This year’s festival runs from March 20 to April 13, with the National Park Service predicting peak bloom between March 28 and March 31.
