Keke Palmer came to the SAG Awards to slay — and also to show that if you want to wear a killer Chanel, you’ve got to reach back four decades to find one.
It’s a gorgeous gown – from the Fall 1987 collection. Smart girl, because almost every modern Chanel we’ve seen on the red carpet in the last year has been something of a disaster. This design, while not complicated or envelope-pushing in any way, is a stone-cold classic because it’s really hard to look bad in a dress like this, so long as it fits you correctly. And this fits her perfectly. She found out later that this dress was worn before by her former Scream Queens co-star Jamie Lee Curtis in 1986, at an American Cinematheque salute to Eddie Murphy, which is a very 1986 sort of event to go to.
