Owl & Monkey Cocktail Bar – London, UK
Once more unto the breach, dear kittens. It is another WEDNESDAY and the world outside is still disappointing and cold. We’ve barely left T Lo Manor in days because of the single-digit temperatures, the world of red carpetry is on a forced hiatus, and it’s all feeling a little 2020 ’round these parts. Let’s pretend other things are happening. Join us in our delusions, won’t you?
Princess Diana Had a Top Secret Dance Teacher Whose Memoir Will Be Turned Into a Feature Doc
’Dancing With Diana: A Memoir’ was written by Scottish/Canadian dancer Anne Allan, who co-choreographed Diana’s legendary ‘Uptown Girl’ routine at Covent Garden.
“The documentary will chronicle the nine-year period from early 1981 when Allan served as Princess Diana’s private — and top secret — dance teacher,” according to a description of the project. “Over hundreds of weekly one-hour lessons at a private dance studio, teacher and pupil forged a close friendship as Diana negotiated stratospheric fame, the joy of motherhood, her crumbling marriage and her struggle with bulimia. In her role as confidante as well as teacher, Allan gained a unique insight into the princess’s life, challenges, passions and achievements.”
Oh Betty! How Betty Gilpin Is Taking Over the Lead Role in Broadway Smash Oh Mary!
A few days before she makes her Broadway debut, Betty Gilpin is not letting anything slip. “My brain feels like an overstuffed sock drawer, and I’m nervous about which socks are falling out in the middle of the night,” says the actress who will replace Cole Escola as Mary Todd Lincoln in the hit presidential farce, Oh, Mary! at the Lyceum Theatre tonight. Gilpin has been waking up in the wee hours, tapping out reminders to herself on the Notes app. “‘Remember to make fists during the quick change!’ ‘Step right not left in this scene change because left means you get a broken nose!’” The anxious, mad dash to opening night works for the character. “Anything that I’m feeling is helpful for Mary. It’s built into the show that she is a frantic, delusional dame desperate for her chance.”
‘It Ends With Us’ Legal Feud Takes New Turn as Both Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Say Leaked Footage Proves Their Point
Early on Tuesday, Baldoni’s legal team leaked behind-the-scenes footage cited in Lively’s sexual harassment lawsuit to select media outlets, prompting a harsh rebuke from her attorneys.
On Tuesday, Baldoni’s attorney Bryan Freedman and his expert public relations team provided the Daily Mail with behind-the-scenes footage they say disproves several key allegations brought against Baldoni by Lively. The footage involved a scene of Lively and Baldoni’s characters slow-dancing in a bar early on in the movie as their romance grows, but the audience cannot hear what they are saying by deliberate design.
‘Star Wars’ Shocker: Ryan Gosling in Talks to Star in Shawn Levy’s Movie (Exclusive)
If the deal makes, this would send the project into hyperdrive after two years of development and make it the next ‘Star Wars’ movie to go into production.
Ryan Gosling is headed to the great galaxy far, far away.
The three-time Oscar nominee is in negotiations to topline the Star Wars feature project that will be directed by Deadpool & Wolverine filmmaker Shawn Levy.
Details on any Star Wars project are harder to acquire than plans for an orbital planet killer, and this one is no exception. Levy has been developing his Star Wars feature since 2022 and Jonathan Tropper, who collaborated with Levy on films such as This Is Where I Leave You and The Adam Project, has been working on a script for over a year. Levy is also producing the feature via his 21 Laps banner, joining Star Wars stewards Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm.
Foodie fragrances are set to be *the* scents we’ll all be wearing in 2025—a perfume expert just confirmed to me
From gummy bears to ripe tomatoes
Moving beyond your fresh fruity scents and classic tonka bean colognes, this new generation of foodie fragrances will take inspiration from a whole menu of notes. From ripe tomatoes and herb gardens to coffee shops and childhood sweets, the perfumes ahead prove that gourmand fragrances don’t always have to be sickly sweet, but they do have to be mouth-wateringly delicious. “Think juicy red berries and caramels meeting a fresh citrus twist or roasted cocoa, honey and plum to create warmth and depth,” says Romy. “Looking ahead, we’re focused on pushing these contrasts even further—exploring unexpected textures and giving gourmands a modern twist.”
Here’s every product I use as a beauty editor in my winter body care routine to keep dry skin at bay
6 steps to restore radiance
Admittedly, my personal winter body care routine is a lot more focused on pampering and polishing than targeting any major skin concerns, and the effect of committing to the routine probably has more of an impact on my wellbeing than it does on my physical body. So without further ado, my entire winter body care routine—it will have you glowing from top to toe (inside and out) all season long.
21 best moisturisers for dry skin 2025, tried and tested
Face feeling a little bit parched? Say no more.
As someone who interviews dermatologists for a living, I can tell you with utmost certainty that finding the best moisturisers for dry skin is far from a straightforward process. While it’s true that most run-of-the-mill formulas do a decent job at hydrating your skin, very few actually succeed at retaining much-needed moisture on a very dry complexion. After all, it takes more than just a few replenishing ingredients and a thick consistency for a moisturiser to be considered worthy, especially when it comes to long-term benefits.
Investing in a high-tech mattress is something you shouldn’t sleep on – here’s why
Investing in one of the best mattresses is a surefire way to improve your overall sleep quality. Just as the perfect duvet or hotel-like pillows can completely transform your shut-eye, the best mattress can turn restless nights into a peaceful slumber. There are countless reasons why ditching your old mattress in favour of the right one could elevate the quality of your kip tenfold (from relieving your joints of pressure to ensuring you wake up less, move about less and feel less disturbed by your partner). And since getting a good night’s sleep is one of the most important things we can do for our physical and mental health, investing in one of the best mattresses 2025 has to offer is something you shouldn’t sleep on.
Previously on Severance: Who the Hell Can Remember?
It can take years for a streaming series to return for another season. Maybe this one weird trick would help platforms convince viewers to tune in again.
It’s a new year, so I suggest—no, command—that every single TV purveyor (especially big streamers) follow this resolution: Before a new season of a scripted show drops, release a meaningful and meaty “what happened in the previous season(s)” clip that is clearly labeled as such.
We have much bigger problems right now, of course. But among the greatest annoyances in the current TV landscape are shorter seasons and briefer overall runs—troubling developments that dismay a lot of people, based on conversations with other critics, creators, and viewers. Programs frequently start off slow, take a while to establish their premises and relationships, and then end, often just when things are starting to cook. Layered on top of that is another worsening trend: Shows are taking much, much longer breaks between seasons.
All 34 Steven Spielberg Movies, Ranked
Steven Spielberg’s filmography includes Oscar-winning pictures and controversial flops. Vanity Fair’s chief critic watched every movie—and ranked them.
Steven Spielberg movies run the gamut from lively blockbusters like the Indiana Jones series to more contemplative, grownup fare like Munich and Lincoln. His filmography is formidable: Over five decades, Spielberg has become the world’s most commercially successful director while also winning two best director Oscars. This year is the 50th anniversary of Spielberg’s first big mainstream success, Jaws, a smash hit that changed Hollywood forever. Which seems like a fitting occasion to take a look back at all of Spielberg’s films, and do what only comes naturally to us content producers these days: rank them.
The Coolest Spring Nail Art to Try This Season
From dainty florals to tie-dye pastels.
Pale pinks will always have a place when the weather gets warm, but why not try some spring nail art that’s a little more unexpected? Whether you’re heading to the salon or doing your nails at home, social media is brimming with ideas.
Yes, there are plenty of pretty riffs on pastels, but also get ready for spring nails that are just pure fun. Think bright rainbow colors, playful takes on flower nail art, and quirky patterns like clouds and cow print (yes, really).
More of a minimalist? Not to worry—we’ve got ideas for you too. The French manicure isn’t going anywhere, and if you’d rather paint your nails at home? Mismatched nail art—the easiest nail art to DIY at home—is happening big time.
See Which Hot Sauce Is the Most Popular in Your State
The increasing popularity of hot sauces “reflects an evolving consumer palate, as people increasingly embrace adventurous flavors in their spice cabinets.”
Things are getting spicy in kitchens across the United States, at least according to Instacart.
In January, Instacart released new insights to celebrate National Hot Sauce Day, which falls on January 22. The data showed that Americans have a clear favorite when it comes to hot sauce, but things do switch up a bit on the state-by-state level.
“Whether you’re adding a dash of hot sauce to your morning eggs or giving your wings an extra kick, our findings reveal the essential role hot sauce plays in kitchens nationwide, enhancing flavors and adding that much-desired zing to any dish,” the company explained in its release.
Stanley Tucci Has a Genius Tip for Buttering Corn
Living life like Stanley Tucci involves a generous amount of butter, and we’re not mad about it.
I’m ashamed to admit it, but I haven’t read Stanley Tucci’s memoir yet. More specifically, I haven’t read either of the award-winning actor and New York Times-bestselling author’s memoirs, which is surprising considering I aspire to live my life just like him: sipping negronis and eating pasta every evening.
Both books are officially on my must-read list for 2025, but in the meantime, I jumped at the chance to listen to a recap of his first memoir, Taste: My Life Through Food, on one of my favorite podcasts, Celebrity Memoir Book Club. While the hosts weren’t as enthusiastic about Tucci’s book as everyone else has been, they did emphasize that one tip he gave stood out to them — and I’ll be incorporating it into my own cooking, especially during peak corn season.
M&M’s Is Adding a Fun New Flavor to Its Ice Cream Sandwich Lineup
Its release is timed to coincide with National Peanut Butter Day.
If you love peanut butter, there are plenty of ways to incorporate it into your daily life, whether you’re upgrading a PB&J or baking a homemade dessert. Now there’s a new option in the freezer aisle at your local grocery store, too: Mars has announced the release of the new M&M’s Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich.
The 3.5-ounce frozen treat features two sugar cookies studded with M&M’s Minis hugging a slab of peanut-butter-flavored, reduced-fat ice cream — and it’ll be sold both as an individually wrapped dessert or in a box of four. The product will debut on January 24, which is National Peanut Butter Day.
Bringing Anne Frank’s Secret Annex to New York, and the World
Covered windows, peeling wallpaper: For the first time outside of Amsterdam, an exhibition reconstructs Anne’s hiding place during the devastation of the Holocaust.
Created by the Anne Frank House and presented in partnership with the Center for Jewish History, the entire installation aims to examine Anne Frank’s life — and death — with a scope not often found in other treatments of this chapter in history. And while Leopold said the current political climate did not inspire the exhibition, it opens when antisemitism is rising in the United States and abroad, and when American popular culture has been turning to visual mediums to resurrect the memory of the Holocaust: fact-inspired dramas like the television mini-series “We Were the Lucky Ones” and the movie “The Survivor” and award-winning recent fictional films like “The Brutalist” and “A Real Pain.”
Unzipped at 30: Revisit the game-changing 90s fashion documentary
30 years on from its Sundance premiere, we revisit our archive interview with the film’s larger-than-life star and 90s fashion legend Isaac Mizrahi
Welcome to the Archive Pull, a series delving into the 30-year history of our print magazine. To celebrate Unzipped’s 1995 Sundance Film Festival premiere, we’re returning to our Isaac Mizrahi cover interview, originally published in the March 1996 issue of Dazed & Confused.
Directed by the designer’s then boyfriend, Douglas Keeve, with a supermodel cast list, (Naomi, Linda, Kate), Unzipped is a six month journey through the thick and quagmire of the US fashion industry, from the failure of one collection to the success of the next. Where Robert Altman’s Pret-A-Porter was an ambitious spoof on the fashion industry at large, Unzipped is an intense one-to-one with 45 year-old Isaac Mizrahi, the self-confessed drama queen; the designer who, since starting his own label in 198, has made flamboyance and ebullience his trademark. This is a designer who declares fashion to be about, “women not wanting to look like cows”. A designer who talks to his mother in a bubble bath about satin and frills, who jests in the film that he has designed his collection by ouija board, whose idea of glamour is an all-in-one jumpsuit made of wildebeest fur. His signature style is exuberant and glamorous. Unzipped cannot help parodying the angst and strife of a designer’s life as it opens the door on the histrionics and hypocrisies of fashion, where heart attacks happen over a missing button and the pace is insane.

‘Gulliver’s Travels’ Getting Contemporary TV Remake From Moonriver, Federation Studios
Jonathan Swift’s classic satirical adventure ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ is getting a contemporary reimagining for the small screen.
Emmy and BAFTA-winning writer Tom Bidwell (“Watership Down”) has created and written a new six-part TV series — entitled “The Gullivers” — and is working alongside producers Xavier Marchand and Casey Herbert for Moonriver TV and Leo Becker for Federation Studios. […]
“Few works of fiction have impacted storytelling and culture like Swift’s masterpiece,” said Bidwell. “It is a work of extraordinary imagination that I have wanted to adapt for many years but was, if I’m being candid, always a little afraid to do so. The team at Moonriver and Federation have a breadth of experience adapting novels of this ambition and scale and when they approached me with the idea of a modern adaptation about Lemuel’s family I was thrilled to help them bring it to screen.”
Steven Soderbergh and David Koepp On Their Big Ghost Story Gambit
When Steven Soderbergh approached the screenwriter David Koepp to collaborate for the second time in five years, it was to make a movie utterly in keeping with Soderbergh’s directorial legacy: brazen, experimental, and totally distinctive. Presence, which premiered a year ago at Sundance and releases wide this Friday, upends the conventions of the single-location haunted house genre by designating the camera as the ghost itself, following the increasingly disturbing breakdown of one unlucky family from its rolling point of view. The nail-biting feature, starring Lucy Liu, Chris Sullivan and Julia Fox in a flashy appearance as the realtor, wastes none of its slim, 85-minute runtime. “I don’t know if liberating is the right word, but boy, it’s the simplest idea I’ve ever come up with,” Soderbergh joked when he called up Koepp from London last week. In conversation, the two got talking about George Clooney, their reading habits, and how they worked together to build that persistent, palpable sense of dread.
