Mothers’ Instinct star Jessica Chastain headed on our to the American Cinematheque Awards to pick up a trophy for herself and model a rather cute, decidedly low-key holiday dress for the occasion.
This is the kind of look we tend to have in mind when we talk about stars dressing seasonally around the holidays. It doesn’t mean dressing up like Mrs. Claus or dressing like Mariah Carey on one of her money-counting days this month. It just means a dark, rich formality with perhaps a little sparkle here and there. We love the dress and the jewelry choices, but that neckline/strap situation looks way too apron-y. We go back and forth on the retro hair. It’s cute, but it’s also borderline precious.
