Fandango Formentera Restaurant – Es Pujols, Balearic Islands, Spain
It’s moody outside and everything feels tense at the moment for reasons that don’t need elucidating, so let’s deny all of that reality and spend the day with imaginary sun on our faces and imaginary sand between our toes. Smell that imaginary salt air, darlings. Sip that imaginary cocktail. It’s FRIDAY.
‘Game of Thrones’ Movie in Early Development at Warner Bros.
The studio has been quietly developing a film based on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy universe as HBO/Max and Warner Bros. increasingly cross-pollinate the company’s big fantasy titles.
The world of Game of Thrones could finally end up on the big screen.
Warner Bros. has been quietly developing at least one film set in George R.R. Martin’s epic fantasy universe, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Multiple sources describe the project as very early stage development, with no filmmaker, cast or writer yet attached. But the company is keen on exploring the idea of Westeros invading cinemas.
The Incredible True Story of Emilia Pérez Actor Karla Sofia Gascón
Karla Sofia Gascón is having a whirlwind year. I witness a mere fraction of it when she rushes onto our video call, ever so slightly delayed. “Excuse me for this crazy life I have,” she says, out of breath.
Even aflutter, she’s captivating. It’s summer, and the Spanish actor is in a strappy white sundress, with a milky manicure and honeyed brunette hair tumbling down her shoulders. She shows me Paris from her open window. That week, the film in which she stars, Emilia Pérez, will be greeted there by theater audiences and critics alike with the same high praise as at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the jury prize in May.
Sweethearts: Everything We Know About the Upcoming Rom-Com on Max
Kiernan Shipka gets her first leading role in a romantic comedy.
I think we can all agree that it has been way, way too long since we’ve had a really good teen rom-com. This is where Sweethearts, an upcoming film written and directed by Jordan Weiss, comes in. It’s about two best friends and college freshmen, played by Kiernan Shipka and Nico Hiraga, who make a pact to break up with their respective high school sweethearts over Thanksgiving break, while seeming to grow even closer to each other at the same time. I think you can see where this is going… So here is everything we know about Sweethearts so far.
Riley Keough On Making Music With Dakota Johnson And A ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ Spin-Off
The actor plays Ask Me Anything and discusses dinner parties with Dakota Johnson, Zoë Kravitz and Kristen Stewart, ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ and more.
Riley Keough might have one of the most famous families in show business – her mother is Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis Presley, after all – but it’s also a well-known fact that she counts a handful of pretty A-list contacts in her phone book as some of her closest friends.
In her recent interview for ELLE UK’s December/January 2024 issue, the actor opened up about her former band with fellow actor and friend Dakota Johnson. The pair met as teens at a branch of In-N-Out and formed a band called Folky Porn, which has gained popularity in recent years despite the pair’s decision to swap the microphone for film scripts.

I consider myself a little black dress expert—these are the only ones worthy of your attention
The LBD is a timeless classic for a reason
If I believed in such a thing as too many black dresses, I (well my husband) would say I have far too many of them. But as it stands, I firmly believe there is no such thing.
In fact, I’ll double down and say I need different LBDs for different occasions. Say, a date night, a work event, Christmas… Sometimes I’m feeling something sleek and minimal, other times I fancy a big sleeve and full skirt for extra drama. And of course, there are black dresses for summer, but that’s a whole other category.
If you like intoxicating, sexy fragrances, trust me— these 11 perfumes will make you go weak at the knees
I’ve put them all to the test
As soon as the weather starts to turn, there’s a type of perfume I find myself reaching for over all the others—boozy perfumes. I’m talking warming, spicy, totally intoxicating autumn-fit fragrances. Scents inspired by liquor are nothing new, but they don’t need to be to have a moment. Just like beverages, there is so much variation when it comes to liquor-like, boozy perfumes, so you’re sure to find something that takes your fancy.
As a beauty editor who experiences some of the industry’s best fragrances for a living (from floral perfumes to more intense woody perfumes) I’ve searched high and low for some of the best boozy perfumes out there. Here is my definitive list of the 11 best and exactly why I think you’ll love them—particularly for autumn/winter.
The Best Celebrity Halloween Costumes
Hollywood always delivers on the Halloween costume front. From Kylie Jenner’s haute bride of Frankenstein moment courtesy of Jean Paul Gaultier to her sister Kendall Jenner’s nod to Toy Story, celebrities are as devoted as ever when it comes to making a splash on Instagram.
Noteworthy moments from previous years include Hailey paying homage to Britney Spears, Rihanna as the rapper Gunna, and Anderson Paak dressing up as the album covers of Stevie Wonder, Prince and Bruno Mars. But don’t forget about when Margot Robbie moonlighted as Ginger Spice, Cardi B rocked up as Medusa and a heavily pregnant Emily Ratajkowski mimicked Demi Moore’s legendary Vanity Fair cover shoot.
The New Stanley Water Bottle Has Arrived
The Vogue office runs on ice-cold water from our Stanley cups. No, really – Vogue Runway’s Irene Kim admits she was “completely against” owning one, but once she gave into the double-insulated stainless-steel giant tumbler, with a straw, she has never looked back. Celebrities like Olivia Rodrigo and Adele have been seen with the bicep-sized cups, and even the global fashion community has gotten on board, with brands and event planners – for example, at Shanghai Fashion Week – creating personalised cups for attendees.
Today, the brand releases its new bottle in the UK. Meet the Cross Bottle, which hits all Stanley’s hallmarks (stainless steel, temperature controlled) with two incredible updates for anybody on the go: It’s both hands-free and closes shut.
The Undying Mystery of Max Schreck—the First Nosferatu
The man behind the silent-film vampire has inspired questions for decades, adding to the allure of one of the creepiest movies ever made.
For decades, the unmarked grave of the legendary vampire lay forgotten beneath a stand of trees. In a strange way, this may have contributed to his eternal power.
His name was Max Schreck, the German actor who brought death incarnate to life in the 1922 silent-film classic Nosferatu. Pass through the brick pillars and wrought-iron gates of the Wilmersdorfer Waldfriedhof in Güterfelde, a century-plus-old cemetery on the southwestern edge of Berlin, and the path will lead you beneath the low-hanging limbs of fir trees. (Waldfriedhof literally translates to “woodland cemetery” in German.) Inside the graveyard, blankets of moss and tendrils of ivy reach up around the stone monuments as if trying to pull them back into the earth. Veer left into the surrounding woods, and you will find yourself standing upon the lonely burial site of Herr Schreck—a performer who, for many years, was said never to have existed at all.

The Best Celebrity Costumes From Halloween 2024
Spooky season lovers, rejoice: ’Tis officially the week of Halloween! This past weekend, celebrities already got into the spirit by attending a number of bashes—and debuting their clever costumes, of course. Stars, after all, have a history of creating elaborate and over-the-top costumes in honor of the ghoulish holiday; It was only natural that they spared no expense again this year. In honor of the creativity, Vogue is rounding up some of the best celebrity costumes from Halloween 2024.
Is Mascara Disappearing? How Ghost Lashes Took Over the Internet
Spooky or sultry? You decide.
Some of our more ill-advised beauty choices are pure nightmare fuel. Whether you overplucked your brows in the ’90s or went through a bad sun-in phase in the aughts, we’ve all been there—even the pros.
The latest makeup regret making the rounds? Heavy, fuller-than-full lashes. “I wore strip lashes to my corporate office—like, what the fuck?” says celebrity makeup artist Kelli Anne Sewell. Early morning demi wispies seem so far removed from the less-is-more energy dominating the beauty industry that it feels almost unfathomable in 2024. In fact, these days, the girlies aren’t even wearing mascara.
5 Nuts That Boost Long-Term Health
Oh, nuts. So delicious, so addictive. Whether cashew, pistachio, almond, or walnut, it’s nearly impossible to eat just one.
Luckily, nuts are pretty healthy—so there’s no need to be fanatical about restricting them. Sure, they’re high in fat and high in calories, but they’re also extremely rich in nutrients like vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. What’s better, some research suggests that eating nuts can help us maintain a healthy weight or even lose weight, and eating nuts definitely seems to have a positive effect on cholesterol levels, hormones, and inflammation.
This Country Is So Small, It’s Been Left Off World Maps — But the Food Can’t Be Ignored
On the edge of the earth, New Zealand cuisine is all about the ingredients.
Winding through the mountains between Queenstown and Wānaka, my Reko private guide Neil Robinson points out how we can physically see New Zealand’s tectonic plates moving where the mountain bases are busting through the road’s barriers. He assures me the South Island is overdue for a catastrophic earthquake that can happen at any time, and we proceed to pretend that reality isn’t terrifying, as the locals apparently do, hoping this adventure to experience the country’s cuisine is worth the risk.
The Banality of Online Recommendation Culture
A recent surge of human-curated guidance is both a reaction against and an extension of the tyranny of algorithmic recommendations.
In the 2010s, affiliate marketing became a dominant strain of online business models. The Wirecutter, which sold to the Times in 2016, made money by driving its visitors to retail Web sites like Amazon or Best Buy, taking a small cut from any purchase of items it recommended. In 2017, New York relaunched its own buying-guide section, the Strategist, as a standalone site. In its posts, journalists and celebrities explained which toothbrushes, suitcases, or couches they liked; the revenue from such product referrals was part of why Vox Media acquired New York in 2019. Since then, online recommendations have crept ever further into the media ecosystem. Platforms want to tell us what to buy, where to eat, and, generally, how to live better consumerist lives.
Best Celebrity Halloween Costumes 2024: Selena Gomez, Jennifer Garner, Janelle Monáe and More
Whether recreating their own notable roles or paying homage to iconic films, stars this year offered a variety of creative and fun looks.
Hollywood stars channeled iconic looks for this year’s Halloween.
Whether recreating their own notable roles like Jennifer Garner dressing as her 13 Going on 30 character, paying homage to other stars like Halle Bailey as Halle Berry and Paris Hilton as Uma Thurman, or even poking fun at pop culture phenomena like the Ozempic trend, stars this year offered a variety of creative and fun looks.
Halloween fanatic Janelle Monáe, who plans out costumes at least two years in advance, unveiled another jaw-dropping transformation as E.T. from Steven Spielberg’s 1982 film.
Why Red 3 is still in your candy
Red 3 has been banned for use in cosmetics and topical drugs since 1990. Why is it still in our food?
In 1990, the FDA banned the use of Red No. 3 in topical drugs and cosmetics. Its cited reasoning was that the color additive was “not shown to be safe,” because when fed to rats, Red No. 3 was found to slightly increase the risk of thyroid cancer. Today, that same dye is still found in candy corn, ring pops, Pez, and nearly 3,000 other foods that we eat, which raises the question: If it’s not safe to put on our skin … is it really safe to ingest? Many researchers, advocates, and now state lawmakers say no.
Last year, California passed a bill formally banning Red No. 3 and several other additives from food in the state. The bill gives the food industry until 2027 to remove the additives from its products, and the industry is already responding, with companies like Pediasure quickly removing the dye from its shakes.
Eddie Redmayne is a jet-setting quiet luxury killer in The Day of the Jackal – but has he met his match in former Tatler cover star Lashana Lynch’s modern-day James Bond?
Sky’s grand-tour reimagining of The Day of the Jackal blends Succession and Homeland, but don’t let the turtleneck fool you – Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch take no prisoners
Right from the start, The Day of the Jackal is double crossing us. As soon as we see Eddie Redmayne’s titular assassin reconstruct a sniper rifle from a suitcase handle in his nondescript European hotel room and neatly haemorrhage the medulla oblongata of a German alt-right politician from precisely 3,815 metres away, we think: so far, so spy thriller. Indeed, we may worry that Sky’s 10 episode adaptation of Frederick Forsyth’s 1971 classic novel (which sees former Tatler cover star Lashana Lynch play Redmayne’s cat-and-mouse counterpart) is an identikit of the 1973 silver screen iteration – Edward Fox’s Jackal tried to take out Charles De Gaulle, now Eddie Redmayne has his crosshairs on German nationalism.
Not so. The best spy thrillers have always been metrics of social power, gadgets for identifying the real political puppet masters. In 2024, the Jackal’s prey is not the incendiary populist leader – a little 2016, don’t you think? – but the tech bro billionaire whose main motivation is to ‘plunge the world into unimaginable chaos’ with his nifty new app. This, The Day of the Jackal seems to suggest, is the kind of man we, and The Powers That Be, should be scared of.
‘It’s Time!’ Mariah Carey Reflects on 30 Years as Queen of Christmas
Getting her usual early start on the holiday, the powerhouse vocalist and songwriter looks back on the phenomenon she created.
When the record company came knocking, Mariah Carey wasn’t sure about making a Christmas album.
“I felt it was too early in my career,” she said in a recent interview, recalling the early ’90s.
But she had always loved Christmas, and so she got to work on arrangements for some of her favorite seasonal classics, like “Joy to the World” and “Silent Night,” and filled her recording studio with vibrant decorations like trees and lights. All she and her writing partner Walter Afanasieff needed were some original songs.
