Ariana Grande responds to concerns about her Wicked casting: ‘I get it’
As a superfan of the musical herself, the pop star would’ve had the same reservations, she says. “I probably would’ve said the same thing.”

As a Wicked fan, Ariana Grande understands why some people may have reservations about her casting as Glinda the Good Witch.
During a recent appearance on the Sentimental Men podcast, the Grammy-winning pop star addressed the debate surrounding her casting and whether or not she could fill the sparkly shoes of the witch. And listen, she gets it.
Wicked’s Ariana Grande tears up revealing what Kristin Chenoweth told her before Glinda audition (exclusive)
“I felt a little bit of the initial nervousness or the sort of preconceived notions about what I might be able to deliver or not deliver, or why I would be wrong or whatever,” said Grande when asked about any trepidations after she was offered the part.

The Crown’s Emma Corrin is being ‘eyed up’ to star in Dolly Alderton’s ‘progressive’ Pride and Prejudice, reports claim
The actor, who previously starred as Princess Diana in The Crown, is rumoured to be Dolly Alderton’s first pick to play Elizabeth Bennet in Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice
It looks like Emma Corrin will continue their reign over British period drama. After making their showstopping mainstream debut as Princess Diana in The Crown, the non-binary actor has gone on to star in Lady Chatterley’s Lover and win over the West End in a highly acclaimed Virginia Woolf’s Orlando. Now, rumour has it that they will be following in the footsteps of Keira Knightley, taking on the lead role in Netflix’s adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
Dolly Alderton, set to write the series, is certainly no stranger to chronicling the malaise of modern romance, having made her name as something of a modern Jane Austen with her book Everything I Know About Love. Alderton is apparently hoping to pen a ‘progressive’ adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, and is said to be very keen for Emma Corrin to star as Elizabeth Bennet.

What Agatha All Along Has Been Telling Us About the Future of Marvel TV
As Marvel’s first TV show produced for Disney+, WandaVision was the major television event of early 2021. It tied directly into ongoing events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe while departing from the usual superhero playbook with an ambitious narrative structure that paid tribute to classic TV. The effort paid off with massive critical and commercial success, which is why it was no surprise when, later that year, the Mouse House announced that beloved character actress Kathryn Hahn would reprise her Wanda role of Agatha Harkness in a limited-run spinoff series. Although it took several years to come to fruition, Agatha All Along finally arrived in September, with Hahn joined by a cast of buzzy stars (Aubrey Plaza! Heartstopper hunk Joe Locke!) and fan-fave veterans (Patti LuPone, Debra Jo Rupp), plus the anticipation that comes from following a smash such as WandaVision. So, now that the show has concluded its nine-episode run, how’d it do? Well, like Agatha herself, the answer is complicated — and says a lot about the overall state of Marvel’s TV business right now.

Reba McEntire Gets Candid About Money, Hair Regrets, and Redefining Expectations
“Women can do 15 things at a time and do them very well. I’m very proud to be a female in today’s society. There’s so much we can do.”

Reba McEntire doesn’t have much time to herself these days. Whether it’s her intense schedule as a coach on NBC’s The Voice, as star and executive producer of her new NBC comedy, Happy’s Place, or as the music mogul she is (the 15th anniversary of her hit album Keep on Loving You releases on vinyl for the first time this December), alone time is a rarity. And that’s why McEntire is ready to come clean.
“My favorite place to just be by myself is on the toilet,” she says in complete seriousness. “I’ll get my phone, my glasses, just go lock the door and sit on the toilet because it’s the quiet place.”

Kate Winslet Is Fighting for Her Passion Project: “Do You Have Any Idea How F–king Hard It Is?”
The producer and star of the stirring biopic Lee is contending with hard truths about Hollywood along the way.

Winslet has returned to Los Angeles on a balmy October weekend to try and keep getting the word out about a film that’s been with her for a decade. She started developing Lee in the mid-2010s—it’s her first feature producing credit—and remained committed amid financing challenges as she enlisted director Ellen Kuras, rounds of screenwriters, and cast members she called up personally, such as Andy Samberg and Josh O’Connor. The film went on to receive solid reviews and perform well internationally—including a record UK box office gross for its distributor, Sky—but has struggled to gain traction in North America, where independent film has felt particularly endangered of late. Not that Winslet is giving up. That’s never been her style.

I’ve always had a blonde bob—these are the styles that inspired me to go for the chop (and never look back)
These A-listers and content creators are the ultimate inspo

Throughout my life, I’ve experienced my fair share of experimentation with my hair; I’ve gone brunette, had pink lengths and tried to grow it long more times than I can count. But the style I always seem to return to? A blonde bob.
After years of sporting a blonde bob, I simply think it just suits me best, both for my hair health and type, and my overall style. A bob hairstyle allows me to keep my ends looking healthy and sharp, while blonde has always been my colour thanks to its versality.

I’ve done all the research – these are the 5 denim trends everyone will be wearing this season (myself included)
Spoiler alert: skinny jeans are back

Of course, we understand that when it comes to the best jeans, the options are endless. This is especially true when investing in key pieces for the colder months ahead now that November is here and December is just a couple of blinks away. So, if you’re looking to invest in key denim staples to make everyday denim styling easier, we got you covered.
This season, denim was seen everywhere on the runway in various iterations, from styles that had been going strong before autumn/winter to the reintroduction of other polarising styles that are slowly but surely making a comeback (skinny jeans, we’re looking at you).

Forget candles, this ancient product is having a seriously luxe moment—and it scents your entire home
Loewe just entered the incense chat

From diffusers to candles, there are plenty of ways to scent your home these days. But incense, which dates back to ancient times (specifically in Egypt, India and China) and has traditionally had ties to spirituality and religion, is having a particularly, let’s say, luxurious moment right now. You see, while incense sticks has been used for thousands of years by a number of different cultures for their intense, powerful scenting abilities, nowadays we are seeing brands from Loewe to Aesop also lean on their power to deliver exceptionally punchy home fragrance options.
Sure, the history of incense spans many millennia, but in 2024 we’re seeing incense sticks reach bestseller status due to their stylish appearance, impressive power, beautiful scents and calming presence. For this reason, I’ve selected the very best of the moment—trust me, they will change the energy, smell and look of any space.

I’m on a mission to smell like a chic Parisian woman—these 11 perfumes take me one step closer
Just call me a fragrance Francophile

When it comes to chicness, there’s no denying, French women just have it. From minimalist make-up looks to uncomplicated skincare routines, they’ve mastered the art of effortless elegance—and this spreads to their choice of perfume, too. In fact, some of the bestselling beauty products out there come courtesy of French beauty brands.
And, of course, because there’s no area of beauty French women don’t excel in, fragrance is of course no different—in fact, social media has long been obsessed with getting to the bottom of the perfumes French women wear. And France, as a country, has a long heritage of fragrance—perfumers and fragrance houses are basically written into its history. After all, one of the most notable perfume regions in the world, Grasse, sits in the French Riviera. For all of these reasons, I’m sure it’ll come as no surprise to hear that French perfumes are widely considered to be the world’s best. (Although, British perfume also has a longstanding history.)

Not only can the weather not make up its mind this time of year from one week to another, sometimes temperatures can vary drastically even from morning to night.
Enter: double denim outfits. Denim has that in-between weight that’s perfect for these unpredictable temps, which is why ’tis the season to wrap yourself up in it from top to toe.

Everything You Need To Know About Champagne, Prosecco And Cava
They might look alike but they have different flavours, price points, production processes and more.

Birthdays. engagements. weddings. Bar mitzvahs. Leaving dos. There’s rarely a celebratory occasion that doesn’t call for a bottle of fizz, right? But knowing your Laurent Perriers and Bollingers from your Chandon Bruts and Lambertis is tricky business. Given that champagne, prosecco and sparkling wine all look fairly similar in colour, bubble and bottle, we don’t blame the uninitiated for being unable to tell the difference between the three.
However, if you really want to impress your friends – and your taste buds – it’s time to wise up about the differences (and benefits) between the three tipples, from knowing the regions they come from, the grapes that make them and the varying sweetness levels.

Brace Yourself: Looks Like Bleached Brows Are Going Mainstream
For years now, a thick, dark and defined set of eyebrows (think Cara Delevingne, Jill Kortleve, Brooke Shields), has been something of a holy grail, beauty wise – hence the rise of microblading and brow lamination. While some stars have bucked the trend by experimenting with bleaching their brows – brow expert Anu Khapung cites Lady Gaga’s “stunning” bleached brows, and calls Kim Kardashian’s slightly lighter brows “a unique twist on the look” – it’s a look that has tended to be limited to celebrities who lean edgy and alternative.
Until now. Last week Sienna Miller – boho queen and icon of accessible, girl next door beauty – stepped out with noticably lighter eyebrows.

What Does Britain’s Remembrance Day Poppy Symbolize?
A brief history of the tradition that commemorates those who lost their lives at war.

If you’re a fan of the royal family, you’ve probably seen its members wear red paper flowers from time to time. But that floral pin is more than just a fashion statement—it’s steeped in significance.
Once a year in November, British people (royals included) honor fallen troops by wearing a crimson poppy. A century-old tradition, the flower has now come to symbolize hope and gratitude. But how did it get its meaning?

The Best Biopic Movies of All Time
From portraits of influential leaders to stories about iconic musicians and athletes.

If the word “biopic,” doesn’t excite you, you may need to delve further into the genre. Biopics, a.k.a. historical movies documenting the life of a real person—can struggle under the weight of expectations and volume, since they might be covering years or decades of events that transpired. But the best biopics can see an actor immerse themself into a challenging role and transform a true tale into a fascinating work of art—and are even among some of the best films of all time.

The Former Waitress Who Will Become Queen of Norway
Crown Princess Mette-Marit ruffled feathers when she married Norway’s future king.

Commoners marrying into a royal family is nothing new (looking at you, Kate Middleton), but the story of Norway’s future queen, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, is a particularly interesting one. Amid the intensifying drama with her son Marius Borg Høiby, we’re taking a look back at how this single mother went from waiting tables to wearing tiaras.
Born Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby, the woman who’d go on to become Norway’s future queen had an unconventional background. Her father was a convicted felon who later married an exotic dancer after divorcing Mette-Marit’s mom, and the princess went on to date not one, but two felons herself.

The Coolest Brides Are Saying Their Vows in Colorful Veils
Many brides-to-be (and editors) were heavily invested in Katherine Ormerod’s mission to find the perfect wedding dress (reader: if you missed this continent-spanning mission, 120 gowns were involved). But on the big day itself, deep in the California desert, it was not Katherine’s Vivienne Westwood Cocotte gown that my eye zeroed in on, it was her peach ombré veil.
The bespoke Hermione de Paula confection was, said the bride, “a love note to [her] teenage self.” Inspired by the rose-tinted John Galliano gown Gwen Stefani wore to marry Gavin Rossdale in London in 2002, Katherine, “a massive Gwen fan girl back then,” was “blown away at the audacity of it.”

How to Eat Butternut Squash Seeds, a Crunchy, Flavorful Addition to Countless Dishes
Crisp and nutty when roasted, these winter squash seeds are as versatile as pumpkin seeds.

Winter squash season is well underway, so perhaps it’s high time to learn how to eat butternut squash seeds, a tasty alternative to the more ubiquitous pumpkin seeds. While the skin of some types of winter squash is more delicate and digestible than others, the seeds of all varieties, from pumpkin down the line to delicata, kabocha, acorn, and yes, butternut squash, are plenty palatable. We connected with cookbook authors and chefs to learn more about the best ways to prepare and enjoy the bounty.
