It’s MONDAY, darlings. We feel like you could all use a hyper-oxygenated space to help keep yourselves upright and alert for all of the celebrity style mistakes and pop culture items to come. Or maybe it’s just that we feel like we need that. Anyway, enjoy all of the fresh oxygen and order yourselves something to dull the effect a little. Oh, just go with it and pretend they’re all real.

Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet says ‘it felt a little hurtful’ when ABC rejected Mitch and Cam spinoff idea
“I think it would have been a slam dunk.”

Eric Stonestreet is done mourning his scrapped Modern Family spinoff.
During an in depth interview with Graham Bensinger, the sitcom star addressed the sequel series that never came to be, which would have followed the lives of Cameron (Stonestreet), Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), and their daughter, Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons), after departing California for Missouri. Despite initially being onboard with the idea, Stonestreet now says the window for the spinoff has closed.
“I don’t think it’s potential anymore,” Stonestreet said of the scrapped project. “They had their chance. [Series co-creator] Chris Lloyd and a couple of the writers wrote a really great script that spun Jesse and I off in our life in Missouri, and they said, ‘No.’ They just said, ‘We don’t want to do it.’”
Stonestreet added that this decision ultimately led to “hurt” feelings for Ferguson, Lloyd, and himself.

Defending the Lost finale on series’ 20th anniversary
Step aside, haters.

Look, I’m not saying it’s The Shield. Or Newhart. Or Six Feet Under. The Lost finale may not be the most stupendous of all time, but it’s certainly not deserving of some of the scorn that was heaped upon it when the last installment of one of network television’s most ambitious series ever dropped on May 23, 2010.
As we hit the 20th anniversary of Lost’s Sept. 22, 2004, debut, it’s worth looking back at the infamous bookend finale (appropriately titled “The End”), and assessing why so many people felt let down by the show’s final installment — an installment that pulsates with big-picture themes, nods to the series’ most impactful moments of the past, and tear-jerking emotional reunions.

The 23 Best Episodes of ‘Lost’
In honor of the ABC drama’s 20 year anniversary, here are 23 greatest hits to stream right now.

The series premiere was already the most expensive TV pilot ever made, but from the moment Jack (Matthew Fox) opened his eye in the pilot created by Damon Lindelof, J.J. Abrams, and Jeffrey Lieber, nothing would ever be the same. Over the course of six seasons and 121 episodes, “Lost” earned Emmys and accolades, amassed a hugely dedicated and intrepid fanbase, and changed the television landscape.
A lot has changed in the two decades since that series premiere. For some, the show’s legacy was tarnished by later seasons and particularly the Season 6 finale (agree to disagree). More troublingly, writers and actors from the “Lost” heyday have spoken out about what they found to be a sexist, racist, and generally toxic work environment. Actor Harold Perrineau was actually speaking honestly about his experiences back when he was still a series regular, but it would take years for the wider entertainment industry and audiences to pay attention.

The Menendez brothers incest plot in Monsters shows the true crime machine has gone too far
To satisfy our insatiable hunger for true crime, TV shows are embellishing trauma for added shock factor.

Several moments in the series show the brothers engaged in intense physical contact. A party scene shows elder brother Lyle suggestively running his thumb over Erik’s lips, as bystanders grimace. In another, Lyle gives Erik a peck on the lips after caressing his jaw. It’s a jarring addition to a story that is already tough to stomach, made even more so by the fact that it differs from most other accounts. […]
Though there is a wealth of options for true crime programming, show creators shouldn’t feel compelled to highlight layers of speculative trauma, to make their story stand out. Not only is there a responsibility to stay true to the roots of the information, it is also important not to trauma-mine real people’s lives purely for entertainment, and to feed viewers’ increasing appetites for greater shocks. This genre of show shouldn’t need to add further drama to make the stories important or noteworthy – the stories themselves should be enough.

Turns out, the best hair oils work for *every* hair type—these are the 9 best for nourished, smooth, shiny strands
Plus, the mistake you want to avoid when using it

When it comes to divisive beauty products, I’d argue that nothing seems to split people into fans and detractors like hair oil does. Those that love it (myself included) can talk extensively about how good it makes their hair look and feel, while those that are averse to using it are always resolutely convinced that it leaves hair limp and greasy.
Of course, two things can be true at once, and hair oil is the perfect example of that. The very best hair oils boast impressive hair-smoothing, shine-boosting capabilities, but the wrong formula (or the right formula used incorrectly) can leave you with hair that feels heavy, lank and flat.

While long, light summer evenings are energising (encouraging socialising and exercising) – cold, dark autumn nights edge often do the opposite, making us less able to function with the same stamina.

Welcome To The Era Of Mindful Weddings
A welcome cocktail event, day-after brunch, or even a pool party are considered common additions to a wedding weekend. But how about a group yoga class, sound bath, and spa services? Or, a trip to Burning Man to exchange vows in the playa à la model Kelly Gale? As couples are thinking more about the guest experience throughout their wedding celebrations, quite a few are going a step further than offering welcome bags upon arrival. The overall wellbeing of guests’ bodies, minds, and spiritual selves are now being given thought as to-be-weds plan their nuptials.

17 Types of Grapes You Need to Know, From Grocery Store Go-Tos to Farmers Market Favorites
Everything you need to know to make the most of grape season.

There are more than 10,000 varieties of grapes grown globally, but only a small minority makes its way to home kitchens. Many varieties are used exclusively for the production of wine, others are used to make vinegar, distilled spirits, raisins, grape seed oils, jams, jellies, juices, and more. The grapes that find their way to shelves in the produce section of the grocery store or to farmers markets have been cultivated for the most elemental form of grape consumption, to be picked right off the stem and eaten.
While table grapes (grown for eating, not production) are grown in greenhouses all around the world to maintain a constant supply of grapes, farmers markets around the United States pile up with grapes come mid-summer. The grape season in the U.S. lasts from late July through October — in cooler climates you can find grapes through mid-November.

Can You Improve Your Wine Tasting Skills or Are You Just Born With It?
There’s actual science behind tasting wine like a pro. But practice is key.

We all know expert-level wine tasting is a talent, but is it innate, or can anyone train their taste buds to detect the subtle nuances in a glass?
Improving your wine tasting skills might seem like a mystical endeavor reserved for Master Sommeliers (or the French). It can certainly feel overwhelming to step into this world as a novice, especially if common wine descriptors like “velvety mouthfeel,” “firm tannins,” and “flinty minerality” sound foreign to you. For anyone not used to analyzing everything they taste—which is most of us—typical wine-tasting notes sound alien, to say the least.

Visit a Cheese Grotto and a Human-Sized Fondue Pot in the Swiss Alps
Enjoy fondue inside a life-size fondue pot — with the supplies in your fondue backpack — outside this cheese-aging bunker.

“You call me ‘Your Majesty,’” laughs René Ryser, as we stand halfway up a grassy slope overlooking the small town of Gstaad, Switzerland. “Because I am the king of cheese.”
Ryser’s official title is “Managing Director of the Dairy Cooperative of the Municipality of Gstaad” (and “Head of the Molkerei Gstaad” or Gstaad Dairy), but ask anyone around town, and they’ll likely know him by the aristocratic moniker more than anything else. While he may not oversee a castle, to many of the region’s farmers and food-focused tourists, the dairy is far more treasured. It has no turrets or towers, and you won’t see it from a distance — or even from directly in front of it — because Ryser’s domain is under our feet, in the form of a three-story, subterranean bunker affectionately known as the cheese grotto or cheese cathedral.

Peru’s Popular Cheese Ice Cream Doesn’t Contain Any Cream or Cheese
Queso helado isn’t your ordinary ice cream.

I’m hypnotized by the spin of the large silver bowl and the mystery of its contents. We’re on the second floor of the buzzing San Camilo Market in the heart of Peru’s underrated culinary capital, Arequipa. I haven’t come to shop, I’ve come to try queso helado, the country’s iconic dessert originating in this southern city. According to my local guide, Norma, this small nook of an eatery with a handful of tables draped in red and white checkered tablecloths, is the most authentic place to sample “cheese ice cream.”

Krispy Kreme Just Brought Back a Fan-Favorite Fall Doughnut
It’s joining the chain’s Golden Harvest collection for just three days.

Just a few short days ago, Krispy Kreme unveiled its new fall lineup of doughnuts with the Golden Harvest collection. And somehow, this wasn’t enough for the doughnut brand. Now, it’s taking Pumpkin Spice Season to the “next level” by bringing back its Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed doughnut. But, there is one massive catch.
“People love our Pumpkin Spice Latte and Cake doughnut, but Pumpkin Spice Season is not complete without the incredible Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed doughnut,” Dave Skena, the global chief brand officer of Krispy Kreme, shared. Which is why it’s bringing it back just for this weekend, from Friday through Sunday, September 20–22 — the official start of fall. “These are the only three days our famous PSOG will be offered, so visit Krispy Kreme this weekend for the ultimate pumpkin spice experience,” Skena added.

The Art of Taking It Slow
Contemporary cycling is all about spandex and personal bests. The bicycle designer Grant Petersen has amassed an ardent following by urging people to get comfortable bikes, and go easy.

Petersen believes that the bike industry’s focus on racing—along with “competition and a pervasive addiction to technology”—has had a poisonous influence on cycling culture. He dislikes the widespread marketing to recreational riders of spandex kits, squirty energy gels, and workout apps such as Strava. He thinks that low, curved handlebars contort riders into an unnatural position; that bicycles made of carbon fibre and aluminum have safety issues; and that stretchy synthetics have nothing on seersucker and wool.

Cole Escola Can’t Process the Meteoric Success of Broadway’s ‘Oh, Mary!’
Up two treacherous flights of stairs at the Lyceum Theatre, Cole Escola sits demurely in their dressing room, awaiting the delivery of a green smoothie. It’s a rare moment of downtime for the 37-year-old star and writer of “Oh, Mary!,” the unconventional smash that’s become the toast of Broadway.
“I feel like I’m in the eye of a hurricane,” Escola , who’s nonbinary, says from their Pepto Bismol-colored quarters, which have been decorated to the nines by their friend, comedian Amy Sedaris. Instead of the “bratty curl” wig and hoop skirt they wear to portray a madcap version of Mary Todd Lincoln, Escola is dressed comfortably in a red cardigan, striped socks and fuzzy pink slippers. “I can’t process any of it. The only way I can wrap my head around it is by pretending I’m looking back on it from 20 years in the future.”
