For many years, we treated Chloe Sevigny’s highly quirky, idiosyncratic and unforgettable style in much the same way we suspect she does: by using each look to announce a new alternate personality. “Chloe’s Alters” was one of the most popular features on our site at one time and we like to think she got an occasional chuckle over it. But her style evolved as her career became a little more mainstream and believe it or not, we don’t like to run a joke into the ground, so we retired the gimmick many years back. We have no idea why she showed up at The Tonight Show in a sexy French maid costume from Spirit Halloween, but we learned long ago to not question these things when it comes to her. Instead, we feel very strongly that she’s urging us to return to our old jokes. Keep stepping out like this and we will, Fifi.
