Since they’re playing sort-of doppelgangers in The Substance, we assumed that co-stars Margaret Qualley and Demi Moore would spend the promo tour in matching outfits. In a way, it seemed like a no-brainer of a promo tactic, given how prevalent theme-dressing has become. But Demi’s been around too long to get caught up in cosplay and Margaret… well, bless her heart, but she doesn’t seem to be all that great about utilizing fashion strategically. In other words, we’re thrilled that they’re not dressed remotely alike for the LA premiere.

Demi is flawless. The gown is stunning, the beat is slaying, and she even assented to putting a little curl in her famously pin-straight hair. Margaret seems to have a knack for finding the most awkwardly proportioned dresses in existence. We keep scrolling up and trying to find some part of this dress that we like, but there isn’t one. The bodice looks like a bathing suit and the skirt feels like a cruel joke. We’re amazed by the shoe choice. It’s like she really sat down and thought about what specific style of shoe would be the absolute worst one to pair with this dress.
