We kept staring at these shots of Adam Brody and Kristen Bell at the screening of their new series Nobody Wants This and wondering why they look so odd to us. It finally occurred to us that we had not recalibrated our red carpet judging settings, which have been stuck on awards shows and film festivals for most of the last month. After we adjusted them to “Netflix series premiere,” their outfits… well, we wouldn’t say they got a lot cuter, but they made a little more sense to us.
It’s very low-key “relatable boyfriend/girlfriend in autumnal tones.” Which is smart, given the title they’re standing in front of. You wouldn’t want to come off too grandiose in a setting like this. Her outfit strikes us as WAY too matchy and his is pretty much resting on his own cuteness. It’s about as bland a guy look as you could imagine while still being presentable and profesh. They’re fine, though. It’s Netflix. Nobody wants this.
