Good Lady Cate came out for the premiere of the second half of the season of Disclaimer, which hasn’t even debuted yet. No, we’re not kidding. This is the Venice Film Festival premiere for episodes 5 to 7 of the upcoming Apple TV series. Evidently the other premiere was for episodes 1 to 4. We applaud Apple TV’s cunning plan to get Cate Blanchett into as many gowns as possible.
It’s funny. When we caught the first glimpse of this on social media yesterday, all we saw was the top half. We took one look at that lace tablecloth and said “Oh, we are definitely putting this one up to a vote.” Unfortunately, once we caught the rest of the look, we realized it would probably not be worth it. This is gorgeous and impeccable. That crystal-embellished sheer panel could have gone wrong in so many ways, but by keeping the rest of the design so crisp and minimalist, it simply shimmers and shines, giving what could have been a stark look some softness and romance.
