‘Alien: Romulus’: First Reactions After the Premiere
The eighth installment in the long-running franchise is set between the events of Ridley Scott’s 1979 ‘Alien’ and James Cameron’s 1986 sequel, ‘Aliens.’
Fede Álvarez’s hotly anticipated Alien: Romulus was finally revealed to the public Monday night after the 20th Century Studios film held its world premiere in Los Angeles, and the first reactions have already hit social media.
The eighth installment in the long-running Alien franchise is set between the events of Ridley Scott’s 1979 Alien and James Cameron’s 1986 sequel Aliens. Romulus follows young colonists who come across a derelict space station and encounter the horror of the alien creature that is the enduring star of the franchise. The film stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced and Spike Fearn.

Sources also tell Deadline that A24 is in negotiations to acquire the package.
Tim and Trevor White of Star Thrower and Matt Miller are producing along with director Matt Johnson. Lou Howe and Todd Bartels penned the script. Emily Rose will exec produce.

The fourth film in the Bridget Jones’ Diary franchise, which is believed to have started filming in London on May 9 2024, will be called Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy and is expected to be based on the 2013 book of the same title by Helen Fielding, but it’s unclear how heavily the adaptation will rely on the original plot.
