The Crown: What Really Happened On Diana, Princess Of Wales’s Final Night In Paris?
While the private conversations between Diana and Dodi are, of course, a product of Morgan’s imagination – and a question mark remains over whether or not Dodi actually proposed – much of the episode does closely mirror real events.
In 2004, the Metropolitan Police launched Operation Paget, an official investigation into the death of Diana and the many conspiracy theories that surrounded it.
Dodi’s father, Mohamed Al-Fayed, alleged that there had been a plot to murder the couple, suggesting that the royal family “could not accept that an Egyptian Muslim could eventually be the stepfather of the future King of England”, according to the operation’s 871-page report in 2006.

Everything we know about the upcoming Christian Dior TV series
Apple TV show The New Look, starring Ben Mendelsohn, Juliette Binoche and Maisie Williams, will delve into the life of the legendary designer

Much like Christian Dior himself in 1947 Paris, Apple TV has been quietly creating one of the most anticipated fashion shows of the season. The programme, titled The New Look and based on the life and legacy of fashion designer Christian Dior, is set to debut in February 2024. Here’s what we know so far…
Fittingly cloaked in secrecy, details of The New Look are slowly emerging. The series will explore the rise of Christian Dior, his rivalry with Coco Chanel, his close relationship with his sister Catherine Dior, and how he established a brand that is still an industry leader more than 75 years later.

Harry Styles’ new buzzcut hard-launched in new shots that celebrate his fragrance range
Harry looked relaxed in a knit from the brand

We never could have predicted the collective attachment the nation has to Harry Styles’ hair. When the first pictures emerged of Harry just minding his own business with his new buzzcut, there was an online backlash to Harry ‘shaving his head’ that took us completely by surprise—we’re talking accounts of actual tears and grief.

The White Lotus season 3 is officially underway and casting for 13 new characters
The White Lotus was undoubtedly one of the most talked-about TV shows of 2022 – and we have been itching for another season ever since it finished. Luckily, since season two of the show was a total success, you’ll be happy to learn that another series has already been confirmed by HBO – so, of course, talk has already turned to what drama the next White Lotus story will bring.

Emily in Paris season 4 is set to begin filming next year
Lily Collins gave us all the updates.

The 2022 Christmas drop of Emily in Paris season three feels like a lifetime ago, and we’re ready to go back to Paris with Emily and the gang for a fourth instalment of the Netflix smash show.
But get this: apparently Emily will be heading out of Paris during the fourth season. During Netflix’s TUDUM event, Lily Collins weighed in on what we can expect for the new season, and apparently a trip to Rome is on the list.
“While Emily’s heart will always remain true to Paris, her life takes some unexpected twists this season,” she said. “Don’t be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday.”

Does rosemary oil for hair growth actually work? Here’s everything to know
TikTok says so.

If you’re on social media, chances are you’ve come across a video (or several) touting the efficacy of rosemary oil for hair growth. Said to thicken hair and lengthen strands, the hashtag #rosemaryhairgrowthoil has amassed over 500 million views (and counting) on TikTok. But does it really work? But does it really work? While the ‘before and afters’ are certainly impressive, we want to know if this unlikely remedy can actually boost hair growth and help with hair loss…

Julia Child’s Dishes Shouldn’t Look Like Food Porn
Food stylist Christine Tobin sets the table for season two of Max’s Julia, explaining the show’s most ambitious episode yet and why culinary scenes should be filmed like a car crash.

Christine Tobin can still taste Julia Child’s Duck a l’Orange—or at least the recipe as made by her father, a French Chef devotee whose Sundays were often reserved for cooking Child’s creations. “He would stand in line to get her autograph on a cookbook, which I still have,” she tells Vanity Fair.
Tobin grew up in the town of Holliston, located about an hour from the Boston studio where Child filmed her PBS series. “I grew up with Julia on the television every weekend, with parents who really enjoyed food and community,” she says. “Being on a dead-end street in a town with no restaurants, they took to cooking at home for their own sense of enjoyment. They started a group called the Gourmet Club on Pinecrest Road, and every month, they’d get together and cook from various parts of the world.” On Saturdays, Tobin says, Child’s show would air following The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross. “I received my early childhood education between the two of them.”

Who Was Dodi Fayed’s Ex-Girlfriend, Kelly Fisher?
An American model was particularly surprised to learn that Diana was in a relationship with Dodi, mostly because she believed that she was.

The brief romance of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed has been glamorized for over 25 years. What’s so frequently left out of the narrative, which is explored on the fifth and sixth seasons of The Crown, is the existence of a third party. While Dodi was embarking on a very high profile relationship with Diana, Kelly Fisher, a model originally from Kentucky, was trying desperately to figure out what was going on.

Everything to Know About Dodi Fayed, Princess Diana’s Boyfriend at the Time of Her Death
The couple had been seeing each other for just a few months before the tragic car accident took both of their lives.

Princess Diana’s romance with Dodi Fayed, the Egyptian-born film magnate, was just beginning when the two died in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997. Now, their relationship has taken centerstage in the sixth and final season of Netflix’s The Crown.
The show first introduced Dodi (played by Khalid Abdalla) in Season 5’s third episode, “Mou Mou.” As the son of billionaire Mohammed Al Fayed, who formerly owned Harrods department store and The Ritz Paris, Dodi is desperate to eke out his own success, particularly setting his sights on the film industry.

The Very Best Classic Christmas Movies
It’s Christmas, and you’re in the mood to watch something festive. Netflix’s frothy best hardly lack in holiday spirit, but gravitas? Maybe. So…classic Christmas movies it is! But before you press play on It’s a Wonderful Life, consider the alternatives: You’re likely well versed in Frank Capra’s simultaneously macabre and feel-good wintertime flick, and filmdom is filled with Christmastime tales for kids from 1 to 92. Why not try something a little different?
Much like Henry Travers’s guardian angel, we won’t lead you astray. Here, 29 of the best classic Christmas movies, from can’t-miss favorites to more out-of-the-box selections.

6 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Marilyn Monroe
We’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who didn’t know that Marilyn Monroe was born in Los Angeles, California as Norma Jeane Mortenson (later baptized Norma Jean Baker), or about the famous men she married—James Dougherty, Joe DiMaggio, and playwright Arthur Miller.
Most people know that the American sweetheart solidified her sex-symbol status with her femme fatale role in Niagara. In Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, with co-star Jane Russell, she flaunted her triple-threat versatility with an unforgettable performance of “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.” And, with features like How to Marry a Millionaire, The Seven Year Itch, The Prince and The Showgirl, and Some Like It Hot, she popularized the “dumb blonde” stereotype—for better or for worse.
But there was much more to the bombshell than her well-known stage name, relationships, and the radical reinvention she underwent to become one of Hollywood’s most iconic (and marketable) stars.

The Cult Scottish Craft and Design Store Bard Opens an Exhibition in Edinburgh
At first, the title of the first exhibition from Edinburgh-based shop and gallery Bard—“The Grit and the Glamour”—may catch you by surprise. The cult homewares destination, which launched in November of last year, has developed a distinct identity around its meticulously curated offering of the very best of Scottish craft and design, from mottled, wonky ceramics thrown in a Galloway potter’s studio to lambswool blankets woven in the textile heartland of the Scottish Borders. Essentially, Bard is a beacon of earthy, rough-around-the-edges tastefulness—not exactly what you’d associate with the glitzy visions prompted by the word “glamour.”

Why Are Millennials Still Attached to American Girl?
From the beginning, Pleasant Rowland’s invention wasn’t just a doll but a brand.

The American Girl doll was invented in the nineteen-eighties by an enterprising former grade-school teacher and news anchor in her mid-forties named Pleasant Rowland, during a visit to Colonial Williamsburg. Rowland was also a successful author of textbooks and other educational materials, and wanted to capitalize on what seemed to her to be the obvious draw of historically accurate, immersive play. Missing from the Barbie-and-baby-doll eighties play landscape, she also noticed, was a doll for little girls who was herself a child.

The ‘Hunger Games’ star and Nottingham native is ready to take the throne

To get in the head of the ruthless future president of Panem, the Julliard-trained actor researched the early days of real-life dictators like Mussolini. He also spent time bonding with costars Rachel Zegler, Hunter Schafer, and Josh Andrés Rivera. The group developed a sense of camaraderie that made the otherwise serious movie feel light behind the scenes.
Blyth relates one instance when Snow and Zegler’s character, District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird, were having a romantic moment in a beautiful lake that was actually dingy and gross. “At one point, Rachel got anxious, and so she used my head as a buoyancy aid and … just about drowned me,” he recalls, laughing.

The Hit Squad: Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Dua Lipa on the THR Songwriter Roundtable
Joined by Julia Michaels, Jon Batiste and Cynthia Erivo, the music masters share the inspiration — from Barbie to heartbreak — that led to this year’s most dynamic songs in film.

Rounding out THR’s annual Songwriter Roundtable are Michaels, who has penned hits for Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez and wrote “This Wish” (performed by Ariana DeBose) for Disney’s Wish; Grammy darling and Oscar winner Jon Batiste, who composed “It Never Went Away” for the Netflix doc American Symphony, which follows Batiste at a career high while his wife battles leukemia; and Tony, Emmy and Grammy winner Cynthia Erivo, who wrote “It Would Be” for the indie film Drift, which she stars in and produced.

Roger Kastel, ‘Jaws’ Poster Artist, Dies at 92
A prolific illustrator, he was most closely associated with the image that made the “Jaws” paperback a runaway best seller, and the blockbuster film it inspired an enduring classic.

Roger Kastel, an artist whose painting for the “Jaws” poster — of a menacing shark with bared teeth looming below an insouciant skinny dipper — became one of the most enduring images in modern pop culture, died on Nov. 8 in Worcester County, Mass. He was 92. His death was confirmed in a statement on his website, which did not give a cause.
Mr. Kastel painted the image for the cover of the paperback edition of the 1974 Peter Benchley novel on which the 1975 blockbuster film, directed by Steven Spielberg, was based. The painting shows a scene from the book in which a tourist, Chrissie Watkins, becomes prey for the great white shark while skinny dipping.

They have a hard, light-tan rind and golden orange flesh.

How to Layer Rugs to Bring Visual Interest to Your Space
Mixing and matching rugs of different colors and textures is a great way to make a room more dynamic.

A rug is one of the easiest ways to add a little something to a room—a pop of color, some texture, an element of surprise—but with so many options, why choose just one? Layering a few floor coverings on top of one another is a trend that’s proven to have staying power.
Doing so, however, can feel intimidating, so we decided to get some expert advice. “We’re seeing the layering trend so much because of [the popularity of] hygge,” says Nancy Fire, the designer behind Studio NYC Design. “Evoking the coziness that’s so important today is not just about pillows and throws—you want to think of it from the floor up.”

This French Palace Has Stunning Gardens and a Fascinating History — and Way Fewer Crowds Than Versailles
Here’s what you need to know before visiting Fontainebleau — a charming town just outside Paris.

There are beautiful places to visit across France, from snow-capped Mount Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps, to the lavender fields of Provence. Even with so much to see and do around the country, many travelers visiting the home of Champagne and the Eiffel Tower fly into Paris and never leave, not that we’d fault anyone for wanting to spend the maximum amount of time possible in one of the most cosmopolitan and romantic cities in Europe. Even if you plan to hunker down in the French capital, it’s still worth exploring the many wonderful destinations that are a short train ride or drive away. Sure, Versailles may be the most obvious — and opulent — day trip from Paris, however, it’s far from the only worthwhile option.
