The first two episodes of Schmigadoon season 2 have dropped and we are going to have PLENTY to say about them in this week’s podcast. One opinion we can reveal now is that Cecily Strong is the MVP of the cast – and that’s saying a lot, considering how stacked this cast is with world-class talents. She has a fantastic ability to meet the material on its own terms while still standing slightly outside it in order to comment on the ridiculousness of it. She was always great on Saturday Night Live but when we watch Schmigadoon, we feel like we’re seeing a comedic talent at the absolute height of her abilities. Anyway, let’s judge her dress.
It’s really cute. The print’s a little busy, but given the neutral color story, it doesn’t overwhelm her. She can handle a padded shoulder really well. The sandals are perfect with it. The only quibble we have is with the extra-long sleeve length.
