At the Berlinale, Miss Annie tries to put a new spin on the sheer dress and we’re left wondering why she bothered.
Hunh. Well, that’s one way to do it, we guess. We’re mildly grateful that she’s trying to get away from the exposed panties look, which has dominated the red carpets of the world for the better of the last decade. But all we can see is a nude bodysuit. That’s the problem with these sheer dresses. In the end, it’s never about the dress itself. It’s always about how you went about covering up your bits and whether or not you did a good job of it. Well, her bits are covered, but now she’s giving Barbie crotch. At this point, why not just line the dress? Is it so important that we see your thighs? It’s a shame, because if this had been lined – or even, we’re sorry to say, if she’d gone the bra-and-panties route – we’d like this look a lot more. The dress is interesting and the overall style really suits her.
