Does the world need another zombie(esque) post-apocalyptic cable drama? No. Not even a little bit. But we’re here to tell you that we were absolutely blown away by the first four episodes of HBO MAX’s The Last of Us. We’re here to tell you that we ugly-cried so hard through one episode that we both wound up with headaches. We’re here to tell you that the cast isn’t just good, they’re to-a-person excellent. We’re also here to rate the style efforts of some of the show’s stars, so we’ll keep the rest of our thoughts on the show under wraps until after it debuts. For now, let’s get judgy as all hell.

We love every single thing about this look – except the colors. The fit is fantastic and the style really suits her. We love the loafers and the sweater, which are both unexpected choices. We’d have rather seen the entire ensemble in practically any other color than this blandly noncommital one. For a look with so much personality, it falls flat on that one detail.

It’s fine. It’s a bit of an affectation because Offerman’s whole stoic lumberjack shtick is an affectation of sorts. That’s not a read. He looks good and he’s dressing more or less to the genre of project he’s promoting. He wouldn’t dress like this for some sort of prestige movie project or even a superhero film, for instance. Anyway, there’s not a lot to talk about here, but we appreciate that the coat is clearly of very high quality.

She’s grabbing her first ingenue red carpet moment without her mama present and running with it. It’s a dress we’ve seen a million times before, but that’s the thing about being young: it’s brand new to her. It looks very pretty on her, but we think the lining should’ve just gone all the way down.

Love every single thing about this. We wish more male stars would eschew the bog-standard suit jacket and wear more dramatic coats on the red carpet. Love that he’s dressed all in black, but each piece has a different finish or textural quality to it. That’s how you dress in black for pictures. Make it interesting, but more importantly, make sure each piece stands out in some way.

Love the jacket, but it only serves to showcase how flimsy the skirt is. Imagine how much better this would’ve looked if it had been lined.
