The stars of the new Whitney Houston biopic, Too Soon: The Whitney Houston St— sorry. We don’t know where that came from. The stars of I Wanna Dance With Somebody (namely, it’s Bobby, Whitney and Robyn Crawford, respectively) hit the premiere red carpet in head-turning style.

It has a gorgeously glamorous and high impact quality to it, but we won’t deny that we’d like it better with some sort of lining. It’s not that the exposure bothers us; it’s just that we don’t think it works all that well with such a heavy-looking design. Similarly, we tend to think a more substantial shoe is needed for a sense of visual balance. Those flowers are the showpiece element here and they’re stunning, but they need a bit more surrounding them to support them, if that makes any sense.

He never fails to stay just on this side of the line that separates “A LOT” from “TOO MUCH,” which is a pretty nice way of saying that this is a lot. Personally, we think the zipper element is wildly overdone and could do with a little editing, but it’s a pretty sharp and eye-catching look nonetheless. We don’t quite think the necklaces work with the mock turtleneck and we’re quite sure the ring doesn’t belong over a leather glove, but he’s a guy who likes his sparkle and we can’t get too mad at it. We guess it comes down to an appreciation for him doing his own thing in a way that makes you look.

Old school. Classic. Flawless. Absolutely no notes. She’s serving goddess.

We’re just not too sure about Naomi in the role, but they definitely got the wigs and costumes down cold.
