Let’s get GOWNY, ladies! And what better place to get your gown on than a country music awards show red carpet? Let’s assess some of the more notable lady looks at this year’s Country Music Awards, shall we?
Carrie Underwood in La Metamorphose
It’s so rare that she tries some interesting, so we hate to be mean about this. We respect the choice, but the design is bulky and the fabrics look like a bridal shop exploded on her.
Jessica Chastain in Gucci
It’s weird. We don’t love the idea of this dress (since the black lace and the bold blue aren’t really to our tastes), but it looks kind of great on her. We think the rhinestones actually make it, instead of making it just look tackier.
Katy Perry in Marques’Almeida
We’re honestly disappointed it’s not a gown. We certainly aren’t offended by jeans at the CMAs, but as a design element, the pants don’t work for us.
Kelsea Ballerini in Balenciaga
This is a pretty gorgeous take on a style that Kim Kardashian made kind of dreary.
Miranda Lambert in Vintage Thierry Mugler
The shape is nice but we don’t like the textiles at all.
So classic a Reba look that this almost comes off like a figure in a wax museum. Not that she looks bad, nor is there anything wrong with sticking with a style.
Wynonna Judd in RVNG Couture
Lady Elvis strikes again. This is honestly pretty spectacular.
