Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, and Paul Dano came out to mark the premiere of their new Spielberg not-quite-autobiopic The Fabelmans and for once, the guys outdid the girl on the fashion front. Attaguys.

Not that said girl looks bad. This is a bit on the dull side, sure, but it’s in that prestige actress mode and she’s already gunning for the Oscar nom on this one. Still, we can’t deny that she used to be more adventurous in her red carpet style. We’re not convinced the necklace really goes with the dress and we’re sorry to say it, but the hairstyle is terrible.

What a spectacular and unexpected color scheme for a more or less basic suit and tie. This is why we get so huffy about celebrity guys in basic lawyer suits on the red carpet. If you’ve already committed to wearing a suit, why not expend absolutely no further effort by picking out one in a non-business color? You’ll stand out way more in pictures. He looks fantastic. Render all of this in a basic gray with a white dress shirt and blue tie and it would probably not even rate any commentary.

In a similar vein, if you’re going to wear the suit and you’re afraid of clown colors, why not pick out one in a funky or photogenic textile? Like Seth and his history of wearing orange tones, Paul has a preference for suiting in unusual prints or textiles. Again, it’s a relatively low-effort look that delivers a ton of impact. He looks great.
