We LOVES it.

Putting aside for a moment the unusual shape, what appeals to us here is how this is a gown that gets more and more interesting the longer you look and the closer you get. When we first caught it onscreen last night, we though it was merely a gold metallic gown, then we realized it had a leopard print pattern, then we realized that pattern was multi-colored. Little pleasant surprises, one after another. As for that shape, it’s part of a long Paulson tradition of big or weird silhouettes, which is one of our favorite things about her style choices. The lady likes to take up some space and we love that for her. Our first impulse is to suggest that she should’ve worn more jewelry, but any time we try to picture bigger earrings or more rings, it feels wrong. This is a dress that needs some room to breathe. It’s styled just right and it’s on the best person to pull it off.
