Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney resurrected a late ’90s/early aughts red carpet mainstay style for the MTV Awards and we don’t know whether we should be depressed or delighted by it; depressed, because we’ve lived long enough to see Britney become a style icon to a whole new generation:
And delighted because we predicted way back when we were all in 2020 lockdown that when the red carpets came back, they would be packed to the rafters (if red carpets had rafters which shut up sometimes they’re in tents or something) with the TACKIEST shit we’d all laid eyes on in a generation. So yes, we choose delighted. You might think she’ll look back on this and regret it some day, but we doubt it because that would defeat the entire purpose of it, which is to say loud and clear “Look how smoking hot I am right now.” Go for it, girl. Live the moment.
