It’s always fun to cover Zazie on the red carpet, because you can never quite tell where she’s going to go, but she’ll almost never land on something that isn’t interesting to look at. For us, this cute little number perfectly sums up the cyclical nature of fashion and how its most iconic forms and styles get slightly remixed for successive generations.
The dress is from 1965, the shoes are from 1975 and the hose are from 1985. Give or take a year in either direction. We tend to think the dress has a lot more impact styled with the thigh-high boots of the look book, but we also tend to think red carpet style is more interesting when it gets interpreted. That’s why they’re called “stylists,” after all. She looks cute, fun and unpretentious – exactly how you’d want to look for your animated movie premiere.
