Meghan and Harry’s Invictus Games Weekend

This is not a criticism, of course. She’s not a working royal and the Invictus Games don’t actually call for much in the way of fashion. There’s no point in comparing her style to Kate’s anymore because they’re each on entire different trajectories, fulfilling entirely different roles. We assumed their SoCal lifestyle and Netflix deal would see the Sussexes hit some glam Hollywood events at some point, but it really does feel like they’re both not into the gowns-and-tiara life anymore, if they ever were. Still, this is a really cute day look. Love that jacket paired with light wash jeans.

In Khaite

We’re sorry to say we don’t like this look at all. Such a fussy and bulky neckline does not call for fitted, high-waisted pants with flares. The proportions seem way off to us. She’s sticking pretty closely to her all-neutrals public style – a little too closely, we think. She comes alive in bright colors and prints but she almost never wears them, which is so strange to us.

If there’s going to be a definable SoCal Sussex style going forward, we suspect it’ll be the jeans-and-jacket look she pulls off so well. This looks pretty great on her and checks off two of her style boxes: neutral and belted.
