Say what you will about Jennifer Lopez, there’s no denying that the woman works her ass off. She’s always approached her stardom the way an old school silver screen goddess from a bygone era might have. She knows she has a fandom to keep happy and an image to uphold and she spends every public moment in service to those two ideas. Your girl NEVER phones it in. We’ve made this crack about her before, but it bears repeating: Joan Crawford is looking down from Hollywood Heaven at J Lo’s  and quietly saying “Attagirl” before returning to her endless closet of satin quilted hangers and Oscar statuettes. Anyway, let’s get to judging.

She’s done this sort of Python Lady supervillain drag before and she’s currently in a matchy-match mood, so this is all sort of expected. The pieces are gorgeous, but we do think the matching shoes and tights are taking things a bit too far. On the other hand, she knows how to stand out on a set:

This is a bit of a swerve from her. It’s the first time she’s really embraced any sort of style that could be called rom com-appropriate. This doesn’t really strike us as her style, although the shorts are a nice sort of J Lo-specific touch.

Again: she knows how to stand out on a set. We wonder if she felt this show required a slightly more conservative, romantic approach.
