We made good on our promise to catch up on the buzz-heavy Abbott Elementary, not least because local folks have been singing its praises, saying Philly-girl-done-good Quinta Brunson had done her hometown proud by creating (and starring in) the show. Yes, it’s as cute and endearing as everyone said. Also cute and endearing? Abbott Elementary star Tyler James Williams’ highly stylish look for his Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance.

That’s how you do a B&W look for television and make it really pop. LOVE that sweater, LOVE those Chucks. We think the cut of the pants, while on trend, doesn’t really work all that well with a white sock/white high top situation, proportionally speaking. This is the second time this week where a male star’s ankle situation was taking away from his otherwise very stylish outfit. We’ve spent many years assessing how female stars handled the “sitting down on television” outfit, all the way down to their footwear choices, but as male stars embrace the dandyism that’s been trending for the last couple of years, they’re going to have to pay attention to how those style choices play on TV or when they’re not in a stand-and-pose situation.

Anyway, it’s minor. He looks adorable.
