We’ll be (you’ll pardon the term) straight with you for a second here. Literally no more than five or six days ago, it’s possible that one of us whined to the other of us that the Cambridges take way too much time off from their jobs. We don’t mean this in a “criticizing the royals” way (we have no idea what would constitute an appropriate amount of work by these two to satisfy the broadest possible demographic of the British people) so much as a “Why won’t Cathy wear something cute and pose for pictures” kind of way. The blogger’s lament.
Anyway, they’re clearly back in the game after a summer of royal me time.
We’re sorry, but we have to ignore her for a second and address the fact that future kings of England should never wear knit ties. We don’t know why; it’s just something we feel very strongly.
Anyway, her. There was a time when Kate in a pantsuit would have been a much more notable event, but as she’s matured into her role (and especially during the last few rocky PR years), she’s embraced way more of a Working Mom persona. The swingy skirts and coat dresses are in rotation less and less these days. She looks great. It’s a very QEII sort of color; looks great in a crowd and in pictures. She knows what she’s doing. The navy blue accents were an interesting choice.
