We have to laugh a little at our reaction to Lupita Nyong’o posting a serve on her socials: we both sighed happily and said some variation of “There she is.” As if we’ve been sitting around waiting for her this whole time.

Okay, yes. We kinda were just sitting around waiting for her to reappear. We admit it. What can we say? A day with Lupita in a cute dress and new ‘do is a day worth celebrating when you’re in our line of work. The dress is cute and we love the hair. We don’t love the shoes, mainly because of the logo.

The house of D&G is having itself one hell of a summer on the celebrity style front, which is disappointing. We can see why they remain such a go-to for the celebrity set. It’s because they produce highly photogenic, boldly declarative looks that help a star make an impact, even if they’re just posing for the ‘gram. They design their wares for this exact purpose. Currently, when you’re a star who wants to make a statement or an impact, you start by looking at what Domenico’s and Stefano’s people have on offer, problematic as they are.
