Between this look and her ’80s school picture day ensemble of the other day, we’re starting to think Awkwafina’s got a knack for making some vintage or classic styles look incredibly freshened up.

It feels like the classic “jeans+blouse+blazer+pumps” look has fallen out of favor in recent years. Or maybe it’s just the “jeans+pumps” thing that faded. Either way, it’s been long enough since we’ve seen a combo like this on a celebrity that it all looks kind of fresh to our eyes. We think most stylists might have defaulted to boots for this look (a perfectly fine choice, always), but these chunky heeled horsebit pumps look really great and that cut of jeans is perfect for her. It’s a classic and some might even call it a basic look, but it’s really well styled and the colors look great on her.

Besides, whether the jeans look is basic or not, we should be grateful the original pants weren’t chosen:
