Apparently it’s Pop Star Day here on T Lo’s World of Theme-Based Celebrity Coverage. Makes sense. The acting community is off eating carbs now that awards season is over so it’s up to the pop stars to deliver the lewks. We put the spotlight on Beyonce and Katy Perry earlier, but now this trio deserves some time in the judging circle, giving how hard they’re serving here.
JOHN LEGEND IN ALEXANDER MCQUEEN AND DIOR
This is fun and cute and could not be better suited (pun sort of intended) to him. We’d consider a tropical shirt and matching yellow suit to be among the harder ensembles for most men to pull off, but he makes it look absolutely effortless.
KELLY CLARKSON IN LOVESHACKFANCY
We’re surprised to admit how much we love the skirt and belt. We’re not normally that much into ruffled tiers, but we like the ombre effect and the soft-hard thing going on with the belt. The design kinda loses coherence in the bodice and sleeves. The neckline’s too deep and the ruffles at the shoulders are too fussy.
NICK JONAS IN VERSACE
We’re surprised, actually. Of the three of them, he’s the most likely to wear an attention-seeking sort of ensemble but this is uncharacteristically low-key. Generic, even. It’s Versace, so the quality of the suit is evident, but the t-shirt brings the look down and we don’t think the kicks work with it at all. Can’t really say the starfish is working for us either.
