Catherine O’Hara Breaks Down Her Best Fashion Moments, From the Screen to the Red Carpet
For Hollywood legend Catherine O’Hara, fashion has always been about telling a story—and in her new “Life in Looks” video for Vogue, that’s never been clearer. From her extravagant looks playing Delia Deetz in Beetlejuice to her ’90s power-shoulder suiting in Home Alone, O’Hara’s eye for fashion as a means of bringing her characters to life has never waned. It’s also been one of the most exciting sources of collaboration throughout her career, she notes, recalling her trips to Maxfield in Los Angeles with the Beetlejuice costume designer for Delia’s outré jackets and hats—some of which she still has in her wardrobe to this day.

Chloe Zhao Makes History at the Golden Globes
She’s the first woman of color to win Best Director. Her work Nomadland is the film directed by a woman to win Best Picture.

Chloe Zhao was named Best Director at the 2021 Golden Globe awards for Nomadland, becoming the first woman of color to win in the category. She’s the second woman ever to earn the trophy, following Barbra Streisand’s victory for Yentl in 1983. She was also the first Asian woman to be nominated for the award.
Nomadland, which stars Frances McDormand, also took home the award for Best Motion Picture – Drama, marking the first film directed by a woman to win in the category. Zhao is also the first Asian woman producer to win the award, Variety previously pointed out.

Read Jane Fonda’s Moving Speech At The 2021 Golden Globes
“There’s a story we’ve been afraid to see and hear about ourselves in this industry.”

Actress Jane Fonda has been a legend for decades. And, apparently, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has caught on, at least long enough to deliver her the well-deserved 2021 Cecil B. DeMille Award for her illustrious career. But Fonda—ever unexpected, ever eager to move the spotlight onto a greater cause—used her time on stage at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards to focus not on her accomplishments but on the gaping hole in the film industry.
Although she never directly mentioned the recent reports that the HFPA has no Black members—and hasn’t for nearly two decades—her inspiring monologue alluded to the data multiple times.

Chadwick Boseman Posthumously Wins Best Actor At The 2021 Golden Globes
His wife Taylor Simone Ledward accepted the award in an emotional speech on his behalf.

Boseman’s wife Taylor Simone Ledward accepted the award on his behalf, giving an emotional speech.
‘He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices. He would thank his team…He would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify that little voice inside all of us that tells you, you can, that tells you to keep going, that calls you back to what you are meant to be doing at this moment in history,’ she said.

Lady Gaga’s dogs recovered safely after theft, shooting
A woman brought the dogs to the LAPD’s Olympic Community Police Station, just northwest of downtown, around 6 p.m, said Capt. Jonathan Tippet, commanding officer of the department’s elite Robbery-Homicide Division.
Lady Gaga’s representative and detectives went to the station and confirmed that they were the dogs, Tippet said.
The singer is currently in Rome to film a movie.
The woman who dropped off the dogs appears to be “uninvolved and unassociated” with Wednesday night’s attack, Tippet said.

The Untold Story of Queer Foster Families
In the nineteen-seventies, social workers in several states placed queer teen-agers with queer foster parents, in discrete acts of quiet radicalism.

In early 1974, the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services floated a policy that would have banned foster parents who have “severe problems in their sexual orientation.” The Action Childcare Coalition, a group fighting for state-sponsored child care and justice for “poor, minority and working women,” mobilized a response. Five hundred people attended a public-feedback session in Olympia that spring, and most of the people who voiced their opinions that day opposed the policy.

Golden Globes winners 2021: The full list
The Crown, The Queen’s Gambit, and Schitt’s Creek led the TV categories; Nomadland, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, and Soul were the most decorated films.

The winners of the 2021 Golden Globes were crowned on Sunday night, in a bicoastal and bizarrely produced ceremony hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
There were awkward Zoom moments aplenty. There were several uncomfortable but necessary mentions of the lack of diversity among this year’s nominees and within the notoriously corrupt organization that hands out the Golden Globes, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. And in between, a variety of television shows and movies won new trophies!

The TikTok Feta Effect
Cheese suppliers have been swept up in the video recipe phenomenon known as baked feta pasta.

Ms. Saxelby and her feta maker — Narragansett Creamery, a small Rhode Island dairy — had been swept up in the video recipe phenomenon known as baked feta pasta. It’s an exceedingly easy, extremely creamy oven-baked pasta sauce made with a whole block of feta cheese nestled into a pint of cherry tomatoes, with olive oil, chiles and garlic.
