Given the historically disastrous ratings of last week’s Golden Globes and the focus-pulling power of the Harry and Meghan interview, the poor Critics Choice Awards didn’t stand a chance in this pandemic-exhausted, gossip-hungry time. But that doesn’t mean we’re not going to salute and render judgment on the style choices of the attendees, darlings! Heavens, no. If anything, they all deserve what little extra bit of spotlight time we can provide them. As with the Globes, the stars did not disappoint or slack off on their style efforts, to our eternal gratitude and delight. Foremost among them would have to be everyone’s favorite faux princess, Emma Corrin.

Maybe we’re just seeing associations that aren’t there, but it always feels like she’s dressing the way a young Diana might if she were around today. There’s always a touch of the ’80s to her choices, but she tends to go in unexpected directions, with a preference for looks so strong, they’re literally difficult to wear. She loves to play with silhouette and proportions, but we think the keyhole is just a bit too large for practical wear. She’d have had a hard time with it out in public, with cameras on her. Still, we adore this look. It’s like nothing else you’ll see today.
