We realize we’ve been saying this a lot for the past year, but we REALLY mean it this time: We would hate this on a red carpet. But we’re in a period where traditional awards track promotional work is required to be a little weird. Everyone’s more or less playing dress-up at home. And while we do tend to appreciate it when a star serves us a complete head-to-toe ensemble with full hair and makeup (because the current public has never needed glitter, glamour and fantasy more than they do right now), this is strangely charming and cute, possibly because it almost feels like she’s skewering her own image a little. If there’s one star who can get away with swanning around the house barefoot playing princess dress-up, it’s Elle Fanning. We bet she has a costume trunk full of feather boas and pirate hats.
