Meghan in a dress! Meghan in a dress! This is not a drill, people!
See, since the Sussexes moved to California and the world kind of shut down, we haven’t yet had a chance to see what the Duchess of Sussex’s public-facing style is going to be like now that she’s slipped the surly bonds of royal life. Given their lifestyle, the types of projects they’ll be promoting and the charity work they’ll be continuing, we knew she had to get back into slightly dressier fare at some point, but she hasn’t really had reason to do so for some time now. She and Harry made a very short appearance in this Spotify StreamOn event to promote their podcasting venture Archewell Audio and for the first time in a long time, we got to see Meghan Markle in some high-end designer ware. In this case, a cute little dress courtesy of Oscar de la Renta.
Well… semi-cute little dress. We love the colors on her and it’s great to see her embrace something quite a bit bolder than her rather timid royal wardrobe. We just aren’t a hundred percent behind the lemon motif, which can look awfully “tea towel.” Still, she looks pretty and the shape of it must be providing some comfort while she’s making that second Sussex baby. It’s just great to see her in something other than a white blouse.
