And now for our daily Lily Collins post. Look, it’s not like this suddenly became a fanblog and it’s definitely not like someone’s paying us for the coverage. It’s just that she keeps turning out look after look of such high or notable quality that a hardworking pair of fashion bloggers are simply compelled to point and say “Look! Look! FASHION!”

We think in this instance our impulse is fueled not so much by a “Look how perfect this ensemble is” sentiment as a “Look how well she can make this somewhat borderline drab dress sing.” If you take a gander at the look book shot below, we think it’s pretty clear that this is a very wearer-specific kind of dress. We can’t say we like the color, the matchy pumps or the overdesigned neck and bustline situation, but she’s working the hell out of it. Hair and eye makeup are doing a lot to elevate this. And maybe the matchy pumps were the right way to go, just to sort of tamp down on adding any focus-pulling elements to the dress. It just works. She and her team are really good at this.
