You heard us! It’s TV TAWK TIME on T Lo’s Terrific Talking Thing! We’ve been watching a lot of new and upcoming shows and we have things to say and express about them.
First, Tom does a little nerdy dive into what worked and didn’t in Star Trek: Discovery‘s 3rd season premiere, including a short rundown of the show’s rocky history and some of the most persistent criticisms of it. Did the bold new direction work? You’ll have to listen in to find out!
Next, Lorenzo jumps in to give you the lowdown on Netflix’s upcoming The Queen’s Gambit, from his love of star Anya Taylor-Joy to the amazing costumes to what the series actually taught him about the intricacies of chess. Is it worth your time? You’ll have to listen in to find out.
Then, they both jump into The Haunting of Bly Manor, which Lorenzo loved and Tom only liked. We’ll get into how it relates to its predecessor series The Haunting of Hill House and whether or not the grand romances in the story actually worked for them, let alone whether or not it was scary. PLUS: Tom had some issues with both the layout of the house and the details of some parts of the story. What were those issues? You’ll have to listen in to find out.
And finally, just a little bit of squeeing over the deliciousness of The Undoing, with a caution not to expect prestige drama so much as addictively juicy plot twists and great costumes.
All of that PLUS we wind up yelling at a beloved member of the British Royal Family for screwing up! Who was that member and what did they do? You’ll have to — oh, you know. LUVYAMEANIT!
