Because attention must be paid when rappers step out in pearls and hot pink. And because we expect our VMAs fashion to be completely cray in the best ways. Why should the ladies have all the fashion fun?

This is pretty spectacular. We think it looks better with the jacket on, but we suppose he wanted to keep the tats on display. We can’t do anything but love the pearls, if only for being the least intuitive accessory choice possible. This would’ve looked great with a medallion pendant, but we have to salute his choice. We do not, however, have to salute the footwear, which strikes us as far too conventional for the rest of it.

If they’d had the VMAs during the height of the disco era, you might have seen a few guys dressed like this back in the day. Again, we love the way it’s off-beat, attention-seeking, fashionable, and just a weensy bit androgynous. We could not pull off either of these ensembles and they’re certainly not for every guy, but he looks great and we love how much fun he’s having with it.
