We’ve got to start off by thanking Gabourey Sidibe for introducing us to this brand by sporting one of their super-cute, bold and bright dresses on the red carpet this week. Founded by sisters Christelle and Michelle Nganhou, Grass Fields‘ commitment to sourcing the boldest and brightest African textiles for their designs was born when Christelle, having received her MBA, was told on a job interview that the bright prints she was sporting were considered unprofessional. She left London, reunited with her twin sister in Cameroon and the two immediately set out learning and mastering the fashion trade and launching their brand. Their clothing for women, men and children are all sourced and made in the UK and Cameroon. The designs are simple and in many cases deeply traditional with their love of gorgeously stunning and eye-catching prints giving the brand its defining aesthetic.
