GETTING THE DAMN JOB DONE. You better brace yourselves, kittens. It’s been so long since any of us have been treated to this much celebrity promotional fashion that we fear the experience may render you a little overstimulated and light-headed. Miss Kiki’s fabulous The Old Guard didn’t get the summer blockbuster release it deserved, but that wasn’t going to stop her from doing her own red carpet tour. All of these looks were worn for virtual press events and you guys? We could weep. This is all we’ve been asking for since the minute that bitch Rona landed on our shores. Time and again, in podcast, tweet or post, we kept pleading with celebrities to work with their stylists, hair and makeup folks to devise looks that can be put together at home and still look as spectacular as any red carpet ensemble. Well Miss Kiki did just that to spectacular effect with the help of her styling team Wayman + Micah. We have nothing critical to say about any of these looks and for a while, we wondered if it was because we’re so ecstatic to see a celebrity doing the werq that we can’t bring ourselves to be bitches, but no. These looks are all pretty damn fabulous. Don’t take our word for it. Scroll down, for God’s sake.
Chic, colorful, and photogenic, the suit benefits from the setting because it probably wouldn’t travel well. She’s wrinkle-free and fabulous. Love the shape of the sleeves, which gives the look a way to stand out. Hair: stunning.
This is fashion-doll ADORABLE. Again, it benefits from being an at-home look, because those shorts would be a lot of work to keep looking that flawless over the course of a day on a press tour. As a look, it works with our without the jacket. The shape and color of the blouse are enough to stand on their own. Hair: Amazing.
In a so-called “normal” summer, we’d probably be a bit neutral about a dress like this, but it’s just so nice to see someone dressed up for summer that we can’t help loving it. Helps that she can work the color and shape effortlessly. Hair: Eleganza.
There’s no full shot, but we’ll take it anyway. We’re not the biggest fans of black lace and we think crop tops have to be deployed judiciously, but so long as those aren’t culottes on the bottom, we see no reason not to applaud this look. Her face looks stunning here. Love the septum ring. Hair: Perfection.
It’s a standard suit in most ways, but the color looks amazing on her and the combination of dramatic hair and bronze pumps really takes it somewhere a little unexpectedly stylish. We’ve noted the hair and makeup throughout, but scroll back and take note of each fabulous pair of earrings as well as the flawless manicure modeling. Drink in all the details, not only because it’s been so long but because everything’s so well done. We are bowing down at this backyard fabulosity and we are BEGGING the rest of the celebrities to get on board with this work.
