After what feels like a years-long drought, we are suddenly AWASH in celebrity fashion today! First SJP steps out in sparkly flats in order to sell her sparkly stilettos, and now here comes Miss Dakota, serving up a whole lotta Zoom look for someone who doesn’t normally go for the fuss.

That is a surprisingly spectacular look for her. As always, we have to consider if our positive reaction to some piece of celebrity fashion is truly warranted or if we’re just gushing because we’re happy to see fashion again. We will admit that we’ve railed against super-fussy pieces like this in the past.

And sure, maybe if we were treated to an entire, head-to-toe look featuring this top, we might consider it just a little too puffy, too twee, too fairy tale. After all, it’s her sister Elle who has the knack and the preference for these sorts of princessy styles. Dakota always tended to go for harder or more low-key fashion. This is surprisingly exuberant for her – and maybe that’s why we’re enjoying it. It’s not a bad idea for celebrities and stylists to start putting more consideration into how to style yourself for a chest-up television appearance. Big shoulders, loud prints and interesting shapes might start becoming the Zoom interview standard.
