In our early-morning editorial meeting, we noted that, given *indicates everything, broadly* all that’s going on, including the worldwide cancelling of events, our normally fallow post-Oscars red carpet period has now turned completely barren for the foreseeable future, leaving your two vaguely sort of humble bloggers wondering just what their content was going to be during this period. Our conclusion: lots of talk show and sidewalk sashay fashion. The prospect left us a bit daunted, but thankfully, Miss Emily wandered on set in something just weird enough to make it worth discussing.
She doesn’t look remotely comfortable in that. But then again, who would? She looks like she’s got a tweed napkin wrapped around her chest and her pants are too tight across the hips.
You know what would be super-great? We’re addressing this now to all those stylists who say they don’t read us but contact us the second we get a detail wrong (you know who you are): You folks should absolutely ramp up the talk show ensembles to insane red carpet levels now that red carpets are about to be outlawed. Every celebrity walking onto a talk show set should be serving up eleganza and attention-seeking for days. A weary, stressed world needs a circus. Give it to us, celebrity stylists. Do your part.
