We kind of love this. At the very least, we’d place it fairly high on her list of personal bests – although it has to be said that the bar is pretty low, considering her dicey red carpet history. We’d rate this fairly fabulous lewk a win all around, but what the hell, let’s put it up to a vote anyway. There are, to be fair, a few things that might not be working perfectly here.
She’s to be commended for sporting a version with a lining, but we’re not sure this one works as well as it could. Matching it to the blue of the dress tends to play down the drama of it considerably. We wonder if a nude or black lining might have been a better choice. Also worth discussing: the shape of that bodice, which is unusually boxy for a gown that feels like it’s going for “slinky.” We’d rate this as a very good, but imperfect effort on her part, but you’ll be the ones to make the call as to whether that means she’s … well.
