In a couple of days we’re going to start writing our annual Oscars-ology posts, where we look at all the actress nominees and how they navigated the awards track with their style choices. We’re pretty sure Miss Charlize is going to show the widest range and prove herself to be the most likely to make a style swerve come Oscar night. Or not. These things are hard to predict, given all the variables involved. All we know is this:
We did not expect this.
The color, the style, the pleating – it’s all a bit off her norm, which is getting increasingly difficult to quantify of late. She’s all over the style map. We hate the neckline, but we love the rest of it. She should be more adventurous with her color choices more often. She’ll never not look spectacular in a metallic, shimmering goddess gown (her go-to), but she clearly has a knack for setting off bold colors.
