It’s a DAISYDOWN, darlings! The red carpet pickins were as slim as to be expected for this week of the year (which is why we won’t even have a leftovers post this week), but Miss Daisy and her team saw an opportunity to step things up as far as possible and really own the week. Mission accomplished. We loved both of these looks nearly equally. But when Lo mentioned his greater love for the Westwood to Tom, who responded with shock and indignation that his beloved would fail to see that the de la Renta was the superior dress, we both knew what needed to happen. We needed to put you guys in the middle of yet another T Lo marital argument.
T’s Pick: Daisy Ridley in Oscar de la Renta at the “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” Los Angeles Premiere
T’s Defense: It surprises me to say this but my two favorite parts of this look are two things I’m rarely fond of: dyed-to-match satin pumps and, of all things, a bustle. The shoes were the right choice, largely because they flatter her legs so much – and this look is all about the legs and the view from the back. Also the color. And of course, there’s that bustle. Basically, there’s a whole lot going on here but it’s all so beautifully cohesive and well-suited to her that it makes for a truly gorgeous look.
Lo’s Pick: Daisy Ridley in Vivienne Westwood Couture at the “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” London Premiere
Lo’s Defense: I like my glamour with a little bit of an edge to it. It’s not easy to marry conventional ballgown motifs with more modern twists and touches, but Vivienne Westwood remains one of the best at doing just that. I LOVE the color and I love the stiff richness of the bodice; like an updated take on an Elizabethan gown.This feels modern and almost archaically glamorous at the same time. I adore it.

On Monday, we start our countdown of the two twenty BEST and WORST red carpet looks of 2019, but when it comes to the top five of each list, YOU get to vote on the nominees and render the final decision.
