Duchess Megs steps out after the bombshell-drop of her documentary and to our pleasant surprise, she stepped up boldly.
We’re not sure if this is accurate or not, but we tend to think of purple and green as two of her more consistently chosen colors – on those semi-rare occasions when she opts for color at all. That’s good, because both of those colors look spectacular on her. Then again, we’d suggest that she’s one of those blessed who can work practically all colors – except maybe neons. It’s why we tend to get so disappointed with her endless parade of neutrals and blacks.
Anyway, while the color of the dress is to be applauded, the shape and style are kinda meh, you’ll pardon the highly technical fashion terminology. The waist sits high and the hem falls low. Aside from that rather hard-to-work combo, there’s not much else going on here. She was correct not to sport the full slit, of course, but it feels like the higher version had more interest to it.
Still, it’s bold and she doesn’t look tortured into it. She’s had fit issues throughout her time as Duchess (as opposed to when she was walking red carpets as an actress, when it never seemed to be a problem) and a lot of her choices since she had Archie have been too tight on her. We think the looser fit suits her at the moment. We just wish there was something here to give it a little visual interest. She’s not a brooch kind of gal, but we think a pendant would’ve done a lot here. And a slightly higher hem.
